Of Orcs and Men Review

Of Orcs and Men's few design issues don't prevent it from being a fun, table-turning take on the age-old conflict.

Gorgeous environments and character design ; Lots of depth in the battle system ; Dual protagonists add an interesting dynamic to the story and combat

Maps are fairly linear and light on loot ; Minor technical glitches mar the vibe

Both warriors' distinct personalities also play into their vastly different fighting styles, and it's these differences that make each one enjoyable to play when the need to swap them out arises. Arkail is a powerful but unpredictable melee fighter who...

More like orcs, goblins, and men, but who's counting?

Fun, tactical combat system; excellent music; good visual presentation; challenging battles

Linear levels; loot is rare; gets repetitive

Well, since BioWare can't be bothered to make BioWare-style RPGs anymore, I'm glad to see someone picking it up and running with it. Who knows? Maybe the next one won't be so linear.

The monsters strike back against humanity.

All in all, Of Orcs and Men is a success, thanks mainly to its innovative battle system. And best of all, there's plenty of room to improve the formula in sequels and other games; this franchise could be unstoppable if it adds better character...

Of Orcs and Men PC Review

Of Orcs And Men turns our perceptions of the fantasy genre on it's head and puts the Orc in the limelight, as Bloodjaw warrior Arkail and his Goblin compatriot Styx set out to bring down the Empire of Men and end the slavery of the greenskin people....

Challenging tactical combat system ; Interesting and unique protagonists ; Orcs > Humans

Linear 'corridor' missions ; Distinct lack of loot

Of Orcs and Men Review

Combine the linear environments, combat mechanics and cut-scenes and it feels more like watching an animated show or even reading a book about it all...

Great looking environments; Humorous cut scene dialogue; Great variety of combat moves; Interesting flip side of a common story

Felt like it was on rails; Limiting combat mechanics; Too many cut-scenes
