A look at this year's crop of soccersims. How they stack up, and which one is right for you?

Editor's note: The final score indicated above reflects the author's judgement for Pro Evolution Soccer 13. Head over to our FIFA 13 review to see Kat's verdict for that game as well.

Review: Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 Finds Itself as a Series in Flux

Konami's latest soccer experience scores, then risks a second yellow card in the same game.

A friend, who knows my predilections for the Beautiful Game well, once IM'ed me a joke: "how you you say 'almost' in spanish?" "Casi?" "no, 'futbol!' lol" As jokes go, it musters a weak hi-hat. As metaphors for Pro Evolution Soccer go, it's apt. I have...

Pro Evolution Soccer 4- Sony PlayStation 2

It's that time of year again when updates of our favourite football games are released. Here we have Pro Evolution Soccer 4 which improves upon quite a lot so I'll cut out the small talk and get straight on with it. What does Pro Evolution Soccer 4...

Well after that rather lengthy description of what the game contains all that remains is to comment on how the game plays. In a word it's sensational! Yes even taking into account the few problems that exist this is, by a long way, the best football...

Pro Evolution Soccer 5

Pro Evolution Soccer 5 is a remarkable title that manages to surpass all previous football games. Whilst it's not perfect it's as close as anyone is going to get for quite a while (well until Pro Evolution Soccer 6 anyway)

If you thought that I was going to render a verdict based on scores from a fake game of competing soccer games, you were wrong. It definitely is not a tie. The term “to each his own” could perhaps not be more prevalent in a video game sense than in...

Pro Evolution Soccer 5

The Pro Evolution Soccer series has always catered itself for -serious" football fanatics, and PES 5 is certainly no different. Newbies will have a hard time getting used to the controls, but returning players will find plenty of new challenges.

Intricate, detailed controls ; Ultra “realistic” gameplay for football fanatics ; Plenty of different play modes, including on-line play ; Good looking, well detailed player models

Steep learning curve for newbies ; You'll need plenty of time to master this title

Pro Evolution Soccer 6

PES fans disappointed by last year's PSP game should be a lot happier with PES 6. It's not perfect, but it's a solid representation of the console versions.

Smart visuals ; Tight gameplay

Some slowdown ; No online or Game Share

PES fans disappointed by last year's PSP game should be a lot happier with PES 6. Until a handheld is released with a full complement of buttons it's unlikely that we'll receive a 100% accurate console to handheld port, but PES 6 plays a great game of...
