Rayman Origins Review

Everybody loves Rayman.

Wonderful art; expansive levels with lots to discover; excellent co-op design

No online multiplayer; difficulty feels tuned for co-op, not solo; some useless powers

I was humming "Happy Happy Joy Joy" through the entirety of Rayman Origins -- it's the next best thing to having another Ren & Stimpy game. What's your favorite platformer ever?

Rayman Origins Review

Rayman Origins is a spectacular living painting, a blast to play and a total triumph.

In a generation filled with M-rated war games, it’s refreshing to see something so different and special as Rayman Origins. It’s downright gorgeous and a total blast to play alone or with friends. A truly realized vision at the top of its genre, Rayman...

Review: Rayman Origins is The Best 2D Platformer Not Called Mario

This (kind of) replaces the hole left in our heart over Beyond Good & Evil 2 (mostly).

Rayman as a character reminds me of most platformer mascots from the '90s, which I suppose is appropriate since Ubisoft introduced him in 1995. He's full of personality and light on unique abilities: run, jump, punch, run-while-jumping,...

Rayman: Origins review

You'll be hard-pushed to find a more outright joyful game than this 2D reboot of the once-proud platforming series.

A triumph. Redeeming Rayman from the Rabbid-based minigame crimes of recent years, Origins manages to be both a deliriously happy dose of nostalgia and a careful, wonderful-looking use of contemporary games technology.

Rayman Origins- PC

At a penny short of £20, Rayman: Origins is definitely edging towards the more expensive end of the spectrum, but with 60 sizable levels on offer and an unmatched pedigree throughout, this is undoubtedly the best platformer we've seen in a long, long...

Rayman Origins- PC

As with the massive factory that comprises the final world, Rayman Origins has a lot of moving parts. In lesser hands, the art design might have overwhelmed everything, leaving the levels to feel like an overly cluttered and repetitive mess. Instead,...

Rayman Origins- PC

It's only that it's called 'Rayman' that makes this at all odd. A rose by any another name might smell a little sweeter, but don't let the series' divisive heritage put you off what is a massively rewarding and celebratory platformer in its own right.
