Shattered Horizon

Look Ma, I am playing one of those 3DMark thingies! Hello fellow PC gamers and welcome to another fantastic review! This time I am bringing you the debut game from...

Zero-G gameplay ; Downright jaw dropping ; Outstanding NetCode

Only 1 main weapon ; Only 4 maps ; Takes a powerful system to run on high

Shattered Horizon PC Review

Combine zero gravity, the everlasting abyss of space and highly powered assault rifles, and you'll end up with Shattered Horizons.

Excellent graphics; innovative gameplay pitting you in the depths of space; potential to be an even greater game with some additional content

Steep system requirements; only one class and one weapon; lack of depth in game modes and maps

Shattered Horizon review

The first review of the new year deals with a rather new and somewhat unknown FPS game Shattered Horizon, made by Futuremark Studios, the ones behind the very pretty Futuremark PC testing and benchmarking tools. Is their first venture into PC gaming a...

Shattered Horizon

From benchmark specialists Futuremark comes their own slimline space shooter

Unique in concept ; Controls are well thought out ; 3D radar and intuitive damage indicators

Only a few modes ; Only a few maps ; Novelty can't hold interest for long

Granted, Shattered Horizon is pretty cheap, but with nothing to keep people returning beyond the novelty of weightlessness, this game is likely to shed players quickly. Never has the vast expanse of outer space felt quite so limited.

Shattered Horizon Review

Gorgeous multiplayer shooting for the Vista/Windows 7 crowd.

Great graphics; unique gameplay; multiple ways to score a kill beyond charging an enemy with the mouse button taped down; freeform 360 degree movement controls work much better than you'd expect

A little repetitive; no single player campaign mode; gorgeous graphics engine flips the bird to anybody not running Vista or Windows 7 with a DX10 graphics card

In the mean time, Shattered Horizon does serve as an excellent proof of concept that FutureMark can do more than create attractive benchmarking demos; I just hope it crank up the ambition level a bit more in the future. Once it does, who knows where...

Shattered Horizon Review [PC]

Shattered Horizon is an interesting game, solid technically and genuinely quite fun. However, the time of its release has put the biggest dent in an otherwise solid foundation, and some strange exclusions mean that it falls short of greatness by a wide...

Solid gunplay ; Decent graphics ; You can blow air tanks up

No context for matches ; No progression at all ; Can be disorientating

Shattered Horizon is a solid foundation for a online FPS. But with no progression mechanics or context for the factions, the game becomes woefully dated despite being fun to play.

Shattered Horizon

Btw, if anybody is playing, or wants some free guest passes to start playing, my steamid is disasterix Post a Comment

Shattered Horizon is simple, but novel, and it does what it sets out to incredibly well. You'll find yourself envisioning zero-g motion in your head after game sessions, like when you see the blocks after a long game of Tetris. You'll certainly

Shattered Horizon - PC review at Thunderbolt Games

First-person shooters come in many different flavors. Historically accurate adventures, ultra-violent crime romps, and the occasional completely fantastical journey into Hell, or some such. Most of them tend to have one thing in common, however;...

Shattered Horizon

Zero-gravity combat and some interesting twists make Shattered Horizon a unique, if somewhat limited, multiplayer shooter.

Unique space setting and easy-to-use controls ; Features like zero gravity and stealth add depth to combat ; Atmospheric outer space visuals

Demanding system requirements that include Windows 7 or Vista ; Only four maps and three modes of play
