SimCity Review

The beloved PC franchise is back after a lengthy hiatus. We dive into the always-online next installment in the SimCity series.

Even so, SimCity is a game I absolutely adore. When I’m not home, I miss playing it. When I’m failing miserably with my city planning, I’m learning how to avoid those same mistakes. Take that urban sprawl I mentioned earlier. In a bout of frustration,...

SimCity

The fifth SimCity title's got plenty of style and substance, but is plagued with bugs and a controversial..

To be honest, it’s all a little bit heartbreaking. There are some lovely aspects to the game, that have been developed from the earlier experiences that so many people knew and loved. There’s a great soundtrack, and the game has a polished look about...

SimCity review: Addictive, beautiful, but broken

Visually impressive, with dense, detailed cities ; Some interesting multiplayer elements

Cramped cities are frustrating ; Simplistic traffic and sim AI

SimCity review – failure to launch

It's already enjoyed the worst launch in video games history but does the game beneath the hype deserve a second chance?

The interface and graphics are perfect, with all the information you could want at your fingertips and a great attention to detail

The small size of the cities is an unforgiveable limitation, as is the flawed multiplayer and awkward single-player. Riddled with bugs and already infamous launch problems

The launch day issues are irrelevant when compared to the more intrinsic flaws that sacrifice the game’s potential for stifling corporate control and tiny cities.

SimCity Review

What SimCity becomes at the hands of its legions of users is going to be an incredibly rewarding and rich experience, that much is sure, I just hope it doesn’t break up any homes of families in its addictive wake.

Incredibly rewarding and well-paced experience; Complex systems that are easy to understand and navigate; Default co-op is a thing of genius and will shape the series’ future; Looks fantastic

Building grid feels a bit too small; Sandbox mode is fun, but lacks more tools to really take advantage of the term
