StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm

It's been almost two and a half years, but we finally have the next part in the StarCraft II “trilogy”. StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, focuses on the Zerg side of things and continues the story that Wings of Liberty started.

Heart of the Swarm delivers a fun single player experience and updates to the multiplayer portion of the game. It took a while to get here and the 20 or so missions available is a little shorter experience that I would've liked for waiting two and a...

Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm Review

Round 2, fight! Blizzard has finally given us the second chapter in StarCraft 2's soap opera and it arguably has the best of the factions take the star role because, well, everyone likes being the ‘bad guy' right? Well that might just be me, but the...

I have to admit, while technically not utilising the game’s core experience, fighting the primal Zerg with the freshly re-crowned Queen of Blades was a marvellous set piece of StarCraft theatre. That and the general squishiness of the Zerg is always cool.

Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm- PC

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm's fantastically diverse campaign and entertaining online play make up for its lackluster writing.

Fun and diverse campaign with plenty of places to visit and cover in creep ; Kerrigan and her army can be upgraded in powerful, satisfying ways ; Great, varied online play with strategic depth ; Slick production values in all respects

Absurd story makes the original Starcraft seem like Shakespeare ; Some multiplayer balancing issues

The new Kerrigan is boring, and her actions are often incomprehensible. After a series of happenstances end her (entirely unconvincing) romantic subplot with Jim Raynor, she devotes all her energy toward killing the Dominion's dastardly Emperor...

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm Preview

Considered a cult classic by many StarCraft was (and is) an incredibly popular real time strategy game. The sequel was announced a few years ago and during development of StarCraft 2 Blizzard announced that the storyline they had created was so epic...

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm Review

The Zerg rush is finally here, but is Blizzard one with the swarm?

The bottom line is this: StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm is a very good expansion. The campaign is solid, but I can’t help but feel it could have been a bit more robust. The improved multiplayer more than makes up for this fact though, so if you’ll...

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm

The second part of the StarCraft II trilogy puts the Zerg centre-stage.

The best, most finely tuned RTS gameplay around ; An excellent single-player campaign ; Slick production values and a gripping story ; New training missions to ease you into multiplayer

Some missions lead you by the nose ; Visuals aren't exactly cutting-edge

The expansion throws a generous handful of new Zerg units into the mix, boosting an already lovable selection. The beauty of StarCraft has always been in its brilliant, memorable unit development and in the superb balance between distinct opposing...

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm Review

The original StarCraft is well known in gaming circles. That game was one of the biggest factors in making eSports mainstream, and is still counted as one of the most finely balanced games ever created, to the extent that it is still played in a lot of...

There is also the issue of DRM. The game needs you to log in to its cloud at least once every two weeks or so for DRM purposes. After that, however, you can play the single player skirmishes and campaign to your heart’s content. There are however some...

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm review

It's a game of two halves, but then it always was. Once again, StarCraft II is split between a heavily scripted singleplayer campaign that's in equal parts epic and overblown, and strategy gaming's most ferociously competitive, tightly-balanced...

As far from a token add-on as you could imagine. Big, brash, cheesy singleplayer and subtle, thoughtful multiplayer improvements make StarCraft II's first expansion a must-have.

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm

Part two of the Starcraft 2 trilogy is here and this time it is the turn of the Zerg to conquer all

As an overall package then, this game offers something for everyone and even if it was only purchased for one facet of the overall experience, you will find excellent value in the box.
