Torchlight Review

What happens when World of Warcraft and Diablo II have an offline love child? The answer is Torchlight. Does that make for a good game? Find out inside.

All in all, I feel that Torchlight is a very sanctifying experience. It clearly had some of the best talent from some of Blizzard's old teams working their magic on it, and it worked. The only complaints that I have is that you MUST click in order to...

Torchlight II

I had forgotten just how much fun I had with the original Torchlight. It was (technically it still is) an action-RPG, a little twitchy, massive loot drops, a fun story and a diverse cast to play through with. Now we get Torchlight II which improves on...

Fun ; Low price ; Solid depth of gameplay ; Multiplayer ; Fun (worth mentioning again)

Graphics will put some potential players off

One of the best games this year.

Torchlight II

There's been an awful lot of loot dropping on my PC over the past week. Between Torchlight 2 and my continued foray into Diablo III I had plenty of dungeon crawling to occupy my time lately (and that's with me trying to stay out of Borderlands 2 as...

Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Judas and his brethren; and…

Solid, randomized dungeons; Great speed; Four varied, comfortable classes; Strong replayability; Only $15

Sometimes monotonous gameplay (a staple of the genre, really)

Special thanks to Jonathan Leack and NecroWolf!

Torchlight II

Torchlight II was, unfortunately, subject to a number of delays. Originally set for release back in 2011, it's only now become available for purchase. I'm happy to say the wait was worth it.

Did I mention it's only $20?

Torchlight II Review

When Torchlight came out in 2009 it scratched an itch all the fans patiently waiting for Diablo III were familiar with. Compelling Action RPGs are more difficult to produce than they appear, and in Torchlight Runic Games captured the addictive quality...

Saving a talking merchant raccoon from skeletons, who then rewards you by enchanting your gear with magic powers. Yes, I typed that.

Torchlight II Review

Traditional loot-driven action role-playing games don't get much more addictive and enjoyable than Torchlight II.

Four distinct classes with great abilities ; An addictive stream of enticing loot ; Vibrant visuals ; Cooperative multiplayer supports up to six ; A terrific value at $20

Action occasionally gets choppy ; Multiplayer lacks a few conveniences

Torchlight II's steady onslaught of enemies is usually enjoyable to manage. However, on occasion, things get out of hand, and the action can start to chug when the screen fills with enemies. Additionally, architecture can occasionally block the camera....
