Total War Battles: Shogun Review

A rare example in which a game plays better on a tablet than on PC.

Plenty of content; simple but attractive graphics; some depth thanks to the rock-paper-scissors strategy

No multiplayer; action is extremely slow; interface is a holdover from the original mobile game; doesn't really feel like a PC game

This is one of the rare examples in which a game may simply play better on a tablet than on a PC. Total War Battles seems like the kind of game I would play on the bus. What say you, reader? Tablet or PC?

Total War Battles: Shogun Review

Total War Battles: Shogun has very little in common with the mainstream entries of the franchise, but it does a commendable job at streamlining the strategy.

Total War Battles: Shogun might be an entirely different game from to its legendarily robust relatives, but it nevertheless manages to provide some semblance of the depth and strategy the series is known for while extending an open hand to newcomers....

Nice presentation, and a lot of entertainment for a minimal outlay. Pretty easy to learn, but represents a serious challenge further on. The Steam code for additional Fall Of The Samurai content is a bonus

Interface is a little clunky, having come from iOS. Placing units usually requires more space than is easily available. The game can be extremely unforgiving at times, particularly on higher difficulty settings

Better than expected.
