Setting up the Logitech Z-5300e set is quite easy. After positioning the speakers, you connect them, the control module, and your computer sound card or game console to color-coded jacks located on the subwoofer. Power on, and you're basically good to...

Affordable for 5.1 speakers; upmixes two-channel sources to play in all speaker channels; control module with headphone jack; integrated desktop stands double as wall mounts; includes video-game-console input adapter.

Excessively short, hardwired, front-speaker cables; lacks auxiliary audio input; lacks digital audio input; has only acceptable sound quality; so-so control module design.

If you're looking to add straightforward surround sound to your PC, Logitech's Z-5300e 5.1 speaker set delivers respectable but unexceptional performance for a reasonable price.

Logitech Z-5300

This is a strong recommend. If you are looking for an affordable set of surround speakers for your game system or computer consider this one. The list price is $200 but we looked around and saw it for as little as $120 with an average price of $140....

Great sounding ; very versatile ; an incredible value

Short speaker wire ; wired remote control

THX does not hand out certifications lightly, and this set has earned it.

"Better than average quality and sound."

I've had this system for 5 years and counting and couldn't be happier. I've only ever used it for TV and blu-ray/dvd movies plus the occasional cd. Using a small digital to analog converter box really improved the sound once I switched over to HDTV....

Price $100. Plenty of bass. Clean treble. Quality phase plug satellite speakers with removable covers. Nice powered subwoofer. Well suited for small rooms.

Not really suited for music as the mid-range is a little weak and bass muddy.
