Logitech Z-680

Great sound; Dolby Digital and DTS decoder; wireless remote control; one set of analog inputs for a sound card or a console; coaxial and optical digital ins; 1/8-inch analog line-in jack; headphone connection.

Expensive; the sub could sound tighter.

If you're willing to spend some cash, this THX-certified 5.1-channel multimedia speaker system is an excellent choice.

Lastly, the headphone jack now silences the speakers. With the old system, you could leave the power off and listen; if you turned it on with the headphones plugged in the whole system was active.

Fantastic set of speakers.

Best PC speakers i've ever owned. 10 years still going strong ; P.S. The successor to this model, Z-5500, can also be regarded in the same league

1) LCD display backlight will shimmer and die, but after many many years of usage ; 2) There will be some static sound, again, after many many years of reliable usage
