Cools fast enough to touch in just a few minutes. Brings water to a boil rapidly. Must have specific flat bottom pans.

we have another portable induction unit and there is no comparison to speed of cooking or temperature selection-with the timer this unit is safe to set and walk away..very pleased.

I like this unit it is a little big as far as serface area but you can cook anything on it it also has two diffrent power readings one in power 1 to 10 and a temp settinf from 110 to 400 so you can cook like a microwave on diffrent power setings or you...

I bought the max burton cooktop primarily to simmer stock outside for a number of hours but for this purpose it's useless. The problem is that the "3" setting gives me a vigorous, rolling boil with 16qts of water, whereas the "2" setting does nothing....
