It works, its good. but..

While the coil gets heated up to really high temperature, which I wanted, it shuts off in 15 mins and then after every 10 mins, which is kind of irritating. It works really fine for frying and boiling though. I wanted a cheap burner for a few months...

Works great

I moved into a new apartment that has a gas stove. I needed a coil burner for my hookah coals and so I bought this. It works great for my purposes. I haven't had any problems with on/off cycling like others said, but I don't use it for that long.

do not buy this poorly designed hotplate

I have no idea how this got more than 3-stars on Amazon unless people just have not used a good hotplate before. I bought this to replace the 10-year old hotplate I got at walmart for ten dollars that finally quit working after using it a couple times...

Great for lighting hookah coals

Works perfectly for lighting coals for my hookah.. But definitely randomly turns itself off and back on, presumably some sort of anti-overheating measure. I assume there are wires inside that are getting hotter than they should, and it's a fail safe. I...

Great for starting natural hookah coals.

Bought this specifically to start natural hookah charcoal, and it works like a charm. Heats up and cools down quickly. Arrived fast and well packed.

Best single burner I have owned!

I live in a small apartment and have been wanting something small to cook on for a while now. I had previously tried two other burners, one of them was a two-burner appliance. I recently bought this product at my local grocery store and paid $11 for...

Good extra burner.

Very happy with this burner. Previously ordered a cheaper brand and had trouble with the heating element turning off and on. Not a problem with this one.

I didn't believe the other reviewers!!!!! Dumb move.

Other reviewers complained that this thing wouldn't even boil water in a reasonable time but, no, I had to order one! I am using it in the bottom of my smoker along with an electronic temperature controller. I have a Kill-a-Watt electric meter hooked...

Not recommended - very low power

I bought 2 of these burners in order to cook on the deck so as not to heat up the house in the late afternoon and evening. My daughters love to come home and boil water for tea at this hour when the afternoon heat is the worst. These burners are not...
