Brilliant knife

This is my 4th Shun knife, and I can't say enough good things about them. The harder steel allows them to have a sharper edge than most knives, and cutting with them is a joy. I find there are things I can make with thin slicing that I could never...

Great Knife

I have had this knife for about a month now and it is my go to knife for most chopping tasks now. The shape and balance are great and its ridiculously sharp. You can literally hold the tip of the handle with two fingers and pull it through vegetables...

bad quality

I bought this knife in March and it is already falling apart. Pieces of the edge of the blade are breaking off. I use it specifically for chopping herbs. I wonder where the pieces of blade end up? I don't know if I just got a bad one or if they are...

Not a great reason to shun other knives...

In reading the other reviews, I came to the conclusion that this knife is a bit over the top. I have it and knives from several great manufacturers, including Wusthof. The knife out of the box is incredibly sharp, but just like any of my best knives it...

Sharp is redefined by this knife

I love to cook and I love my knives. I was looking at getting either a Usuba or a Nakiri and after researching on the Internet, decided that the Nakiri would be more useful to me right now. I then had to decide which Nakiri and reviewed about 20,...

My new "go to" knife.

I love my knife. Prepping vegetables is effortless. Best.Knife.Ever. It's incredibly sharp, ergonomically perfect for me and awesomely sharp. Absolutely worth the money.

Wow

I just received this as a gift. I asked for it thinking it looked cool, and that it would be a good knife. After using it, I could care less how cool it looks. I own Some Wusthoh and JA Henckels and a set of Globals, and it isn't even close after one...

Hands down my favorite knife

About 10 years ago, I converted to Wusthof knives from cheap store stuff. It was eye-opening--the blades were stronger, sharper, and better balanced than knives I had used before. When I was getting married, I did a bit of research, and decided to...

Don't need this if you have a Santoku.

I love this shun knife, but if you have a good santoku (like the DM 0718), you won't need this. They are almost identical, except for the missing tip of the nakiri. I don't even pick up my santoku since I got the nakiri. Works great for vegetables.
