This would be the perfect phone if the battery lasted...

My only complaint is that the battery life is very short. We even replaced the battery. The new battery was strong for one day & then reverted to the incredibally short life of the first battery. This is my second Panasonic 2.4 gig phone & both phones...

The Best Cordless We Have Had

After several inexpensive cordless phones went by the wayside, I went back to Panasonic, the one phone that has always lasted. I guess I wanted to try the cheaper phones to see if there was a difference, and the answer is a definitive yes! My favorite...

Looks nice, but disappointing

Like several other reviewers, I had severe problems with my phone shortly after purchasing it. Most severely, my phone became incapable of recognizing the base unit, despite my repeated attempts to reprogram the handset to fix the problem. On top of...

Works Great --- For the first few weeks

When we first got this phone, it was wonderful! It worked fine - had great range, great sound etc. However, after the first month or so - it started having problems. It would say "out of range" even though you were standing right next to the base. ...

Within six months of purchase the #4 button failed. The 4 was followed by the seven, the seven followed by the 1. I purchased the phone for my home office. The speakerphone has always been difficult to hear as is the receiver. The programming options...

Product Specifications

The new KX-TG2553 is part of Panasonic's fourth generation of "GigaRange" 2.4GHz cordless phones, and the second generation of "Extreme" phones. It is shock and splash-resistant like the earlier models, and has a number of improvements. The phone base features the "Diversity" antenna system. This technology, used for wireless microphones in concerts as well as in mobile radio equipment, incorporates two antennas mounted in different locations. With two antennas, there is a better chance that one will receive a clear signal. A circuit inside the phone base automatically chooses the better signal, so you get the best communication possible. Caller ID with Call Waiting can display the caller's name and phone number on the illuminated three-line LCD screen on the handset, even if you are currently on a call when a second call comes in. To access the stored Caller ID information, you can use the "navigator" key located on the handset. This multi-function button allows you to easily scroll up and down through the Caller ID log for the caller's information, viewable on the handset's LCD. Also viewable via the handset display is a 50-name and number Caller ID memory with dialer for later review and instant callback. You can talk handsfree while wandering around by plugging a headset into the 2.5mm jack on the portable handset, and clipping the handset to your belt or putting it in your pocket.
