Sony SPP ID 970 -- Nice phone but could be better.

When we needed a second phone for our upstairs, we asked for one for Christmas. Our gift was the Sony SPP ID 970. I've always been happy with Sony products and the innovations that they've introduced to even the simplest of products. Unfortunately,...

Long range. Variable volume. Long battery life. Easy caller ID.

No ringer off switch. Sound quality average.

Good Feature Ideas But Needs Improvement

I got my phone shortly after a friend bought one for himself. I used his newly installed phone and played with the cool jog dial feature to make a call or two, and saw how the caller ID displays nicely right on the handset. I bought one for myself...

Nicest feature is the jog dial number storage usable with the caller ID.

Automatic channel searcher can be annoying.

Worth the price

We recently decided we needed to acquire a cordless phone and I started to look around. My criteria for a phone was the following: It had to have Caller ID, had to have memories (at least 10) and had to be digital. Here's why:

Reasonable number of features for the price.

No hold or mute button, can't shut off the ringer

Best Cordless I've Ever Bought

I've had the Sony SPP-ID970 for about five months now and have enjoyed every second of my time with it. It isn't the type of phone which is packed with every feature imaginable, but it is an extremely capable unit with everything I was looking for....

Great reception, backlit LCD, Jog Dial

No hold or mute buttons, easy not knock phone out of charger

Finally, a 900 Mhz I can hear on!

This is my second 900 MHz investment and I am very pleased with it. I originally bought a Bell South that was clear as mud so I was hesitant to buy another 900 MHz for fear that they were all like that, I was ready to go back to the 2 channel type!

clear, long range

loud ringer

This summer I decided to get a new phone for our beach house. We are always outside on the porch or walking around the neighborhood. We needed a solid cordless phone that had a extended reception area. After my son and I did some shopping around, I...

My dog peed on my phone!

That's right - my dear puppy dog peed on my phone a couple of weeks ago! I was out in the yard checking my purple martin nests and had the phone out there in case anyone called. My dog came up, hiked his leg, and let the phone have it! I tried to...
