Bought this for in-laws who have trouble hearing. This phone works well for that purpose, it lights up when it rings but it is also easy for them to use. We already bought the base with the answering machine.

Wish the extra handsets would be offered at the store and not just online

I have the Uniden base and extra phone. Needed one in my home office, so purchased this addition, programmed from base and I was in business. So far, I have no complaints
