Acer Aspire 7600U Review

Smartphones and HDTVs aren't the only consumer electronics growing in size. All-in-one desktops have also been caught up in the trend. A few years ago, most computers of this type offered a 23-inch display at most. Now, nearly every major hardware...

Attractive design ; Excellent connectivity ; Good graphics performance

Unexceptional display ; Poor audio quality ; Slow processor and hard drive ; Not a good value

Acer’s attempt to enter the premium all-in-one market doesn’t measure up. Performance, display quality, and value all come behind the competition, and these are the traits most important to an all-in-one.

The best all-in-one PC: we review the new touchscreen Windows 8 desktops

It's an interesting time to buy an all-in-one PC, that's for sure. The iMac is thinner and more powerful than ever, and Windows machines finally have touchscreens that appeal to an average user. Now that Windows 8 is on the market, all-in-one computers...

Beautiful design ; So easy to convert to tablet mode ; Plenty of ports

Unstable ; Pricey ; Feels like a prototype

With a touch-friendly new OS, now is the all-in-one's time to shine

Acer Aspire 7600U Review

All-in-one PCs have always seemed a little weird, at least to me. They don't take up as much space as a traditional computer with a tower and a monitor, but they're not exactly portable. They also tend to be pretty expensive, though the hardware hidden...

Don’t get me wrong, I liked the time I spent with the 7600U. I just think there will be quite a few folks who will pass at the $1899 price point. Acer did a lot of cool things with this computer, but in the end, the Aspire 7600U falls short of...

Acer Aspire 7600U (A7600U-UR308)

With a glass-front design, a giant HD touch screen, and a bevy of entertainment options, the Acer Aspire 7600U will get plenty of shoppers imagining this beauty sitting atop their desk or hanging on a wall, and with good reason. From the 27-inch touch...

Glass-front design is stunning. Touch screen offers 1,920-by-1,080 resolution with 10-finger tracking. Spacious 1TB hard drive. Blu-ray player. Intel Core i5-3210M and Nvidia GeForce GT 640M offer solid performance. HDMI in and out ports provide...

Pricey. Lots of software preinstalled

The Acer Aspire 7600U might be the prettiest all-in-one desktop PC we've ever put our hands on, and a bevy of entertainment options will entice plenty of people, despite the steep price.

Acer Aspire 7600U All-in-One review: Big screen, little performance

Easy to use, built-in gesture controls ; Full-sounding audio from built-in speakers ; Mobile components deliver less performance than other desktop PCs

Flimsy kickstand for the weight of the system

The Aspire 7600U is a mesmerizing machine, but its mobile processor means less-than-impressive performance.

Acer Aspire 7600U

Acer demonstrated a new focus on high-end PCs last month when it announced the Aspire S7 Windows 8 laptop and this $1,899 27-inch Aspire 7600U all-in-one desktop. Despite improving its typically bargain basement product aesthetics, at least for this...

Acer's new attention to look-and-feel shows in the Aspire 7600's clean appearance and responsive touch input.

The Aspire misses on price vs. performance, and Dell's 2,560x1,440-pixel resolution XPS One 27 makes 1,920x1,080-pixel screens like this one feel pedestrian.

Subpar computing components and a dominant high-end all-in-one from Dell hurt Acer's high-end, visually compelling Aspire 7600U.

Clean design and thin profile, Gorgeous 27-inch display, Useful port selection

Expensive, Application performance lags behind competition, Loaded with bloatware

The Acer's elevated price, however, makes it harder to recommend. If you aren't married to Windows 8 and Blu-ray, the 27-inch iMac's higher performance and higher resolution make a stronger case for your all-in-one dollars.

Acer A7600U-UR308

The Acer A7600U-UR308 is the best entertainment all-in-one PC we reviewed, but its price point makes it hard to justify, especially when other, cheaper computers offer a Blu-ray optical drive and gaming potential. The Aspire U is a beautiful series of...

You'll be able to watch HD movies on the Blu-ray player and play many games on medium or high settings

This computer is much more expensive than most other all-in-one PCs, but it does not offer any significant processing power to justify the price

If you're looking for a new entertainment hub, the Acer A7600U-UR308 offers great entertainment potential for anyone's tastes.

This all-in-one PC has a great display, lots of ports and dedicated graphics

The Acer Aspire 7600U sits at just the right junction between price, performance and features for an all-in-one PC. The combination of a superb display, dedicated graphics and a huge range of ports is fantastic for £800 and you get much more for your...

Acer Aspire 7600U review

As far as anything with a 27in screen can feel floaty, this all-in-one does. The clear perspex hanging from its edge-to-edge glass screen gives it a lightness from the front, though you'll find it more industrial from other angles.
