Solid, quick, low cost PC

responsive, quiet, nice case with drive rails, ubuntu linux installed easily, decent keyboard

Hard drive is a tiny bit loud, but it's good that the other components are quiet enough that you can hear the HD. No OS cd included

Good price, solid computer

Vista really isn't a problem with these specs; I haven't had any performance problems so far.

A really great deal, everything works out of the box

The only thing that's somewhat lacking is the graphics card, which you may have to replace before you buy a new rig if you like to play recently-made computer games. Don't let that deter you though, this is still a great system and graphics cards...

Excellent office PC

I bought this PC to replace a prehistoric PC in friend's dental office. It works great as a front desk PC which runs a practice managing software, MS office, and is used by the office assistant to log onto myspace :). Aero is a bit slow, because of the...

No installation manuals at all! If you are total computer noob, you may need an advice from an expert to set up the machine. Printed manuals just tell you how to place you PC on the desk and about safe work practices :0. DVD-RW cable in my PC was not...

Acer Aspire ASE380-ED422A Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2GB DDR2 250GB NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Windows Vista Home Premium

Great pc for the price. Lots of ram, fast processor, cool blue neon light in front. Vista runs much smoother than I thought it would. No problems at all. Very happy

Acer doesnt give you any os disk, everything comes pre-installed and you make your own "back up" disc with the acer program. This isnt a problem, but you dont have the option to do a windows repair if anything should happen. You have to do a complete...

Good value, converting to XP not as easy as I would have liked

I failed to get dual monitors working with the onboard nVidia graphics and pre-installed ATi card. Acer provides XP drivers on their website. There's also a new Bios and an easy Flash utility. The Bios has a setting for dual monitors. Configuring the...

Overall good value. The USB keyboard has a nice spring feel, better than I'd expect in a mid-range packaged system. My system came with a Hitachi (IBM) Deskstar SATA drive. The case has a sliding front panel that slides down to expose the front audio,...

I was surprised not to find any CD in the box. The speakers are inferior to my old eMachines speakers ; I brought the system up once as a Vista machine, just to make sure it worked, then replaced the power supply and HD, and installed XP Pro with my...

Exceeds expectations

Some may also chafe that the 320GB drive is effectively smaller than that, with a hidden partition devoted to restore disk images. I was at first, until I discovered how incredibly easy it was to generate DVD restore disks, both application...

Solid configuration for the price, including gigabit LAN, Firewire support, 2GB RAM, generous 320GB hard drive, super-multi optical drive. Right out of the box it can handle just about anything except heavy video editing or serious 3D gaming

Not much, considering the low price. I do wish the on-board video included DVI and HDMI, like most of the new AMD 690G chipset-based motherboards do. These new boards are also cheap enough for use in machines at this price level ; Some may not like the...

A lot of box for the buck...

Add a second DVDRW, a floppy slot fan (no floppy, who cares?) a PCI fan (PCI slots are limited but with 8 USB ports, a working LAN and decent onboard audio, I dont need many) this will be a compact, quiet cool box for a small price tag. It works the...

Compared to other boxes in the same price range this has a lot more muscle. Others have poopy onboard video and this has a decent video card. In the price range it has a comparable CPU, with more RAM and a bigger HD. Lots of USB ports. Tolerable...

Who the hell needs a 250W power supply? First thing I'm installing a 600W. And Windows Vista??? Vista sucks. Second step is installing a second 250 hard drive, making it the master drive, and installing XP on it. I there comes a time (past the beta...

Fast and Good Looking PC

Acer support is pretty good although if you have a problem you have to pay to ship it to Texas.

Fast, inexpensive, good looking. 2gigs of ram helps vista run smoothly

Power+Mobility

I snatched this one up despite some bad reviews and I haven't had a single issue. I'm even not having a serious problem working around/with Vista, and I think we will all have to get used to it eventually, anyway.

Despite warning reviews that it would not, the Acer worked out of the box, and very well, and I have not had a single complaint as to the machines performance. It was for me, a very good buy

If* the other reviewers are correct and the power supply is eventually going to be a problem, it won't be too overly expensive to fix the problem and have it working again, but it would be a downside
