Acer Aspire Predator (G7700-UQ9550A)

Acer's Aspire Predator is a peculiar power desktop. We see this particular configuration more as a sturdy base with room to grow than a power PC in its own right; a little more detail work on its guts could push it toward the top of the category.

Competitive price ; Striking design

Liquid-cooled, but not overclocked

A good machine, the Predator delivers solid performance for its price; a little reconfiguring could wonders, however.

Acer Aspire Predator G7700

Case design is quite functional despite the front-panel door, good monitor, fast performance, liquid-cooled CPU

Doesn't have an option for the latest and greatest in graphics and RAM technology

Acer has made a valid attempt at creating a monster of a PC in an Alienware-like vein, but ultimately, its attempt falls short because the high-end model doesn't include options for the latest in memory and graphics technology.

Acer G7700 Predator

There's no mistaking that Acer's G7700 Predator is a PC aimed at hardcore gamers. Gaming PCs tend to have heavily stylised cases and the most powerful components for playing the latest, most demanding games, and they also tend to be expensive. The...

Help! Mummy! As powerful as it's eye-catching, but doesn't quite justify the price.

The Predator is an awesome-looking PC, and marks a radical departure from Acer's usual desktop PC range.

Review: Acer Aspire G7700 Predator Trooper desktop computer

A powerful gaming computer for those who want their PC to stand out

Pros: Powerful; quiet; easy access to hard disks; good keyboard and mouse Cons: Too expensive given its performance; no monitor included; getting inside the case is a pain Overall: Good performance in a striking case, but gamers can buy a faster system...

Acer Aspire G7700 Predator

The Acer Aspire G7700 Predator is a dedicated Windows Vista gaming PC with Nvidia nForce 780th SLI-capable graphic chipset and four hard drive bays (allowing RAID). Configurations include Intel Core 2 quad-core processors, up to 8GB RAM, 7.1 audio...

There are two good reasons to bolt Acer’s flagship PC to your gaming den floor. Firstly, it’s probably worth more than anything else in the house. Secondly, you won’t have to worry about the Predator’s aggressive angular jaws going on a high-tech...

It looks tougher than it is, so no kicking the plastic shell or flimsy swing arms when you lose a bout. While the gaming mouse and keyboard are OK, it’s always annoying have to pay for accessories you probably already own

A snarling, sneering powerhouse of a gaming PC, capable of almost infinite expansion (if you’ve got the cash). If you still can’t vanquish your opponents with the Predator on your side, the problem is in your fingers, my friend.

Acer Aspire G7700 Predator Crusher

Acer's extravagantly named Aspire G7700 Predator Crusher is one of the meanest looking PCs that's ever graced the PC Pro Labs. With its angular, burnt orange chassis and slatted fa?ade, this PC certainly looks like it means business.

Dramatic looks, but the Predator is crushed by more powerful competition this month.
