Acer Aspire M5811 desktop PC

A small, fast and well-designed Acer PC that can be used as a media centre

Nice design, good range of connectivity options, great performance

Receiver for remote control is not built in, keyboard and mouse aren't cordless

With the Acer Aspire M5811, you'll get a PC that's fast and useful for a whole range of tasks, including video editing. With its digital TV tuner, it can even act as a PVR. We like its design and think it's a great value PC if you're after something...

Acer Aspire M5811 i7 4G 500GB

Set ups easy and straightforward. You realise why you are supplied with three blank disks as you go through the process. Super fast, with a brilliant wide screen. PC case has all the right knobs and whistles in all the right places - on the front and...

I had read some criticism of the built-in speakers, so was not surprised that I found them wanting too. I now have external speakers in addition. My biggest issue in setting up was to install a new HD webcam. (Logitech C910). The PC crashed several...

Acer Aspire M5811 i7 4G 500GB

Bought for price performance, and is exactly what I expected. I am very IT capable, so the ease of use/connectivity questions probably are not as importat to me. Biggest issue was porting from Vista to Windows 7, which is not a machine issue.

I'm not sure about the media expansion bay. Think I would prefer them mounted on the front of the machine, ditto for the USB ports. But its no big thing.

Although it does not say so in spec of this computer, the computer actually has three video ports: vga, dvi and HDMI. Spec only lists two video ports: vga and HDMI. But very good built, great specs. Great processor, 3.2 mhz and plenty of hard disk...
