Acer Aspire Revo AR1600-U910H review:

Typically our challenges with the emergent Nettop category have been that real budget PCs cost just a little bit more and provide a dramatic performance uptick, and similarly priced Netbooks offer equivalent performance with the added benefit of...

Most affordable desktop on the market; HDMI and eSATA ports; low-risk starter PC or light-duty email/browsing station; consumes very little power.

An Xbox 360 offers the same digital media capability, plus the option to play games, for the same price.

Acer's Aspire Revo 1600 might be the first Nettop we don't actively dislike. We'd rather have an Xbox 360 in the living room, but the Aspire Revo 1600 would be suitable as a PC for young kids or as a low-profile cloud kiosk. Thanks to its $199 price...

"this little gem is outsanding! I paid $217 with tax."

for the price who could even make an argument that this is not the best period...if you come across one pick it up as you will not regret it.

great graphics card. NVidia yep that's right I watch 3d movies and play my games in 3d. plays games very well. basically does everything and does it well. i've had it over two years without one problem. I even use this to develop software.

one and only one processor could be faster but really who cares. to own one is to love one.

"Cnet reviewer's invalid comparison Xbox360 vs this PC."

Re the comparison: Xbox360 it NOT a PC - it cannot run Word processing; and, for that matter, this PC also CAN INDEED play games. Xbox360 is limited to 'console games,' whereas this device could play both PC games [and] 'console-emulated' games...

Great as a supplemental PC/workstation and/or entry-level multimedia device.

Too limited/slow as far as CPU and processing power for any true high-end uses.

I love this!

Some people are claiming that the audio doesn't work over HDMI, and some that audio does work, but not 5.1; the hardware IS capable of this, it's your operating system that is holding you back!

This thing is fantastic! I can watch videos at 1080 with no hiccups at all! I'm running a version of XBMC by XBMCfreak that is geared towards boxes running with this hardware

Everybody is sold out and I really want another one of these; anybody hate theirs and want to get rid of it!? :)

Acer Aspire Revo AR1600-U910H Intel Atom 230(1.6GHz) 1GB DDR2 160GB NVIDIA ION LE graphics Windows XP Home

Know what you're getting and you won't be disappointed. Yes, the XP install has a lot of garbage included, but that's not what I got it for anyway. I'm sure it'd be a perfect little web browsing machine if a clean install of XP done. I gave it 2GB RAM,...

Purchased for XBMC, and boy does it deliver. Completely silent out of the box, XBMC is very fast, playback is perfect. Connected it to a gigabit network, pointed it to a Windows Home Server share with my media, and it did the rest. Not much bigger than...

I don't have HDMI audio, so I'm having to use the jack on the front. I'd really prefer it was in the back, the cable running to the front looks lame. It'd be nice if instructions on opening it were provided, it took a few minutes to figure out

Tried to contact Acer to see where I could locate and purchase a VESA mount kit that came with other models of Revo. Couldn't get a straight answer or figure out where to purchase one.

I purchased one of these to make a HTPC using XBMC as my media center interface. It has been purring along without much of an issue on the Hardware side. Plays 1080p files without so much as a slowdown

Audio Out is on the front of the box making for some slightly ugly wiring for those who have to use it ; No VESA mount kit included

Great for home Ubuntu server & desktop

I needed an Ubuntu server, so I don't care about HDMI, wireless network, audio, mic, nVidia video driver, etc, etc. I care about compatibility with all linux services and I was able to format ext4 with LVM! Can you believe it? Also java 6 and Tomcat 6,...

Small ; cheap ; not noisy ; decent amount of memory & hard drive ; 6 usb + 1 e-sata ; Works well with Ubuntu server and Ubuntu desktop ; Upgradeable to 4GB ram

Flimsy power button. What will I do if it breaks? I am serious, it seems it can break at any time if I press it the wrong way. Since it's not easy to repair I will probably need to dump the unit and buy a new one ; Flimsy base. If you want to use it...

Acer Aspire Revo AR1600-U910H Intel Atom 230(1.6GHz) 1GB DDR2 160GB NVIDIA ION LE graphics Windows XP Home

BUY THIS! If you're looking for an awesome media center and sweet little video card for 1080p. DON'T BUY THIS! If you're looking for a super fast, mulitasking machine.

The NVIDIA ION card is amazing ; HDMI out ; Lightweight ; Plenty of input/outputs ; eSata ; Does everything it promises and nothing it doesn't. I got this for a media center and I'm pretty impressed so far. Does everything I want it to. Has no problem...

Not a super fast machine, but that's not what this machine is meant for. If you buy this expecting a speed demon, you're in the wrong place. Buy this expecting a good little machine for a media center, or other HD video use ; Ports are on 3 of the 4...
