Acer Aspire Revo AR1600-U910H review: Acer Aspire Revo AR1600-U910H

Acer Aspire Revo AR1600-U910H

Most affordable desktop on the market; HDMI and eSATA ports; low-risk starter PC or light-duty email/browsing station; consumes very little power.

An Xbox 360 offers the same digital media capability, plus the option to play games, for the same price.

Acer's Aspire Revo 1600 might be the first Nettop we don't actively dislike. We'd rather have an Xbox 360 in the living room, but the Aspire Revo 1600 would be suitable as a PC for young kids or as a low-profile cloud kiosk. Thanks to its $199 price...

"this little gem is outsanding! I paid $217 with tax."

for the price who could even make an argument that this is not the best period...if you come across one pick it up as you will not regret it.

great graphics card. NVidia yep that's right I watch 3d movies and play my games in 3d. plays games very well. basically does everything and does it well. i've had it over two years without one problem. I even use this to develop software.

one and only one processor could be faster but really who cares. to own one is to love one.

"Cnet reviewer's invalid comparison Xbox360 vs this PC."

Re the comparison: Xbox360 it NOT a PC - it cannot run Word processing; and, for that matter, this PC also CAN INDEED play games. Xbox360 is limited to 'console games,' whereas this device could play both PC games [and] 'console-emulated' games...

Great as a supplemental PC/workstation and/or entry-level multimedia device.

Too limited/slow as far as CPU and processing power for any true high-end uses.

Too limited/slow as far as CPU and processing power for any true high-end uses. It is NOT great as one of the reviewers said - as a Media Server - not by a long shot!

I love this!

Some people are claiming that the audio doesn't work over HDMI, and some that audio does work, but not 5.1; the hardware IS capable of this, it's your operating system that is holding you back!

This thing is fantastic! I can watch videos at 1080 with no hiccups at all! I'm running a version of XBMC by XBMCfreak that is geared towards boxes running with this hardware

Everybody is sold out and I really want another one of these; anybody hate theirs and want to get rid of it!? :)

Acer Aspire Revo AR1600-U910H Intel Atom 230(1.6GHz) 1GB DDR2 160GB NVIDIA ION LE graphics Windows XP Home

Know what you're getting and you won't be disappointed. Yes, the XP install has a lot of garbage included, but that's not what I got it for anyway. I'm sure it'd be a perfect little web browsing machine if a clean install of XP done. I gave it 2GB RAM,...

Purchased for XBMC, and boy does it deliver. Completely silent out of the box, XBMC is very fast, playback is perfect. Connected it to a gigabit network, pointed it to a Windows Home Server share with my media, and it did the rest. Not much bigger than...

I don't have HDMI audio, so I'm having to use the jack on the front. I'd really prefer it was in the back, the cable running to the front looks lame. It'd be nice if instructions on opening it were provided, it took a few minutes to figure out
