Acer Aspire T180

The Acer Aspire T180 is priced to sell, but its single-core Athlon processor just can't handle today's rich multimedia Web.

Cheap. Nice design. Lots of expansion space. No bloatware.

Hobbled by a single-core processor compared with competitors.

Decent Machine, A Sum'd up Review.

Good computer, just need to downgrade to XP.

Well the hardware is good hardware

With Vista installed the ram just does not make up for the speed. If you are like me and want to play games, it is almost impossible to play new games. Needs atleast 2 gigs of ram

Nice little machine

If you take the time to read the reviews anyone who gave it less then 5 stars were complaining about no restore disks. If they paid any attention at all during the computer setup it ASKS YOU if you want to create restore disks. Also almost no retail...

should come with more recovery disks as do not have! no manuals! hardly any customer support!

This computer is a great home model. It runs great, has everythig a home owner needs.. I also have the x193w montier to go with it

NO recovery disk! No manuals included! I have this computer for about 2 wks, customer support sucks! I can not keep the montier from flickering, loose color all the time. Can not get any support onhow to adjust it, instructions found do not work! My...

Great Basic Computer

I added a floppy, an additional 1G of memory, an identical 250G SATA drive, a 350W power supply, and an eVGA 8600GT video card. Although I was prepared to trash the Vista OS for XP, I find Vista to be quite nice, expecially with the additional video...

Other than the great looks and price, the best thing about it is the ease of upgrading and the quality of the case. The SATA DVD and hard drive make the inside clean. There is plenty of room on the inside for upgrading, and the machine is very quiet....

Power supply is only 250W. There is no documentation on the motherboard. No backup DVDs either unless you want to shell out another $20+ shippping, I think

Sleeper

Even Vista is turning out to be not so bad as I have heard. I will probably delete some of the software provided, but it isn't a problem. This is an extremely good value, and my 24 inch monitor plays beautifully on the on-board Radeon 1250. I would buy...

I looked at nearly every desktop NewEgg had in stock before selecting this model. The On-board Graphics are surprising, too, even before I added 4 more gigs ram. There are 9 USB, 1 1394, a lan, and even 2 PS/2 for my old trackball!! This box is a grat...

I Thought the recovery disc thing mentioned by another reviewer would be an issue, but found that Acer provides very good software on-board to make recovery discs, applications and drivers discs, and even system configuration discs, which I did in...

not bad

Upgraded processor to a Athlon 64X2 4600+, and 3GB of ram (2X1 GB kit plus the original 512X2 kit that was in it) and threw vista Ultimate 64 bit on it and now the machine flys!!!!!! Definately recommended if you dont mind throwing another 300 into it...

Easily upgradeable, support for 4GB of Memory, decent HDD, quiet case, decent amount of ports, and expansion slots

stock processor sucks, 1GB of ram is weak, and Vista Basic!!! WHY

Acer Aspire AM1100-U1302A Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 1GB DDR2 250GB ATI Radeon X1200 IGP Windows Vista Home Premium

Nice tower, specs and price. I'm very satisfied with the USB ports being located at the front of the tower

It had some software preinstalled that I didn't want, but I got rid of that with no problem at all. It didn't come with any OS or driver disks. Other than that, I have no problems

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Definitely a good buy

I don't know what happened to Aces customer service, but it's just completely gone. Tower comes with no mobo diagrams, no installation or recovery discs, and no system schematics on the hard drive. I can't even find mobo diagrams online for it. Acer's...

Great quality rig for little money. It comes with mid-level graphics support already, though adding an aftermarket card doesn't hurt. The interior is nice, roomy, and organized. Perfect for air travel, though the PSU wire bundle does get in the way...

The PSU in this kind of sucks. It's a 250w peak which barely supports the CPUs, let alone anything else. Also the PSU only has 1 remaining molex plug, so adding any additional IDE hard drives is a pain. If you're adding a PCI-E video card, upgrading to...
