Acer Aspire AU5-620-UB10 review: Budget all-in-one keeps things fun

Calling Windows 8 a "tough sell" is a bit of an understatement. Microsoft's re-imagining of the classic desktop as a touch-centric affair threw many of us for a loop, especially those of us accustomed to PCs with large monitors, managed via a keyboard...

The Acer Aspire AU5-620-UB10 offers good performance and an attractive IPS display at a budget price.

The 5,400 RPM hard drive results in slower load times for applications, and peripherals can eat up the five USB ports quickly.

The Acer Aspire AU5-620 is a great entertainment PC, pairing an attractive display and strong media-streaming performance with a wallet-friendly price.

Acer Aspire U5 (AU5-620-UB10)

The Acer Aspire U5 (AU5-620-UB10) is a good all-around home PC, and a reasonably priced all-in-one that doesn't require much compromise.

Reasonable price. Decent performance. Spacious 1TB hard drive. Large, 23-inch full HD display with touch capability. Stable design. HDMI input opens up other uses

Integrated graphics only. No Blu-ray drive

The Acer Aspire U5 (AU5-620-UB10) all-in-one desktop PC ($999 as tested) is aimed at the user who wants something for the whole family to use, whether it's for homework, Web browsing, or budgeting and banking. Thanks to the addition of an HDMI input,...

Acer changed the look of its all-in-one line, but this machine's performance leaves much to be desired.

Handsome industrial design ; HDMI in and out ; 802.11ac Wi-Fi adapter

Unattractive price-to-performance ratio ; Slow hard drive ; No Blu-ray drive

Acer's Aspire AU5-620-U10 is a good-looking all-in-one PC. But at this price, gamers and anyone with serious computing needs should look elsewhere.

Acer Aspire U5-620 review

The Acer Aspire U5-620 is a well-specified multimedia machine, but clunky software and so-so design limits its appeal

The Acer Aspire U5-620 is a good all-in-one PC for media consumption and a bit of light gaming. While its built-in TV software is clunky and its bundled keyboard and mouse could do with improvement, the U5-620 is a well-specified device which should...

Acer Aspire U5-620

The Aspire U5-620 is an all-in-one PC with grand aspirations. Squeezing a 23in touchscreen, potent specification and TV tuner into a slender, compact frame, the Aspire U5-620 isn't content with merely being a multimedia powerhouse – it's clearly keen...

A promising high-performance all-in-one, but the dim display and uninspiring design leave us wanting more
