Acer Predator AG3-605-UR39

The Acer Predator AG3-605-UR39 is a midrange gaming desktop PC that will perform well on the game grid. But its limited internal expansion options mean it's strictly for the plug-and-play crowd.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 graphics. Lots of I/O ports. Front-accessible hard drive expansion bay

Limited internal expansion. Flimsy feeling sliding door. No Blu-ray drive

The Acer Predator AG3-605-UR39 midrange gaming desktop ($1,299.99 as tested) not only looks imposing, but its quad-core Intel processor and an enthusiast-level Nvidia GeForce graphics card will help annihilate PC game opponents. But given its limited...

Acer Predator G review: A budget-priced gaming rig with some real teeth

Unlike many off-the-shelf PCs aimed at gamers, the 2014 Predator is no wannabe.

Strong price-to-performance ratio ; Blu-ray drive ; Attractive, unassuming enclosure

No SSD ; Just adequate power supply ; Only one PCIe slot (occupied)

You'll find plenty of more powerful gaming PCs on the market, but few that are this competitively priced for the components delivered.

Acer Predator AG3-605-UR20

The Acer Predator AG3-605-UR20 is a solid choice for anyone shopping for an off-the-shelf gaming desktop.

The Acer Predator AG3-605-UR20 is a solid choice for anyone shopping for an off-the-shelf gaming desktop

Performance lags behind other similarly-equipped systems

With the continued growth of PC gaming, desktop makers are flocking to gamers with ready-made gaming rigs designed to appeal to those who don't care to build their own systems. The latest among these is the Acer Predator AG3-605-UR20, a mid-level...

Inadequate power supply

In short, it runs amazingly when it actually runs. But the power supply is garbage. Not enough to run the system without triggering reboots. Avoid this system.

When properly running, spectacular performance while gaming and general speed of operations

All of that is undermined by the fact that the PSU is so inadequate to handle the components, that random shutdowns and reboots plague this system constantly. 500W is sufficient, but the fact that the company refuses to elaborate on the specific model...

Fast, good value, but no TPM

Buy on sale Great machine if you know what you are doing and don't need online support from the manufacturer to make everything you want to work right. Otherwise, strongly recommended, powerful machine whether you are a gamer or not.

Excellent hardware specs for low price ; Good value ; Easy to upgrade ; Fast

No Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip on motherboard for easy use of advanced OS features such as Bitlocker drive encryption (but there are some less convenient workarounds), online Acer support outdated if you ever need it

Great Machine

If you're looking for a good machine to open up and play, this is it. I planned from the very beginning using this as a stepping stone to building a better rig, and thats what i'm doing now.

I have to say. For an out of the box, set it up and go machine, I couldn't be happier. I'll have had this machine for a year in February. I have not had ANY issues with it, other than minor ones. It's quiet, and doesnt heat up at all. I play a lot of...

The USB ports on top sometimes fail, but I just got a 4 way splitter for the USB 3.0 in the back, and its fine

Performs Well, but not without issue

Good build for the price. The 8gb comes on a solitary stick making the upgrade more convenient. Processor doesn't even blink at most things thrown at it (heavy use staying under 40%) ; Sleek and Sexy with out all the teenager tron lights you see on...

There is a real clicky fan in there somewhere, and The 1.5gb card struggles in high to ultra settings in games like Farcry 4, or Shadows of Mordor. These issues are minor (frame rate plummets) and usually clear up fairly quick. Nonetheless, a video...
