Acer Veriton X270-ED7400C

The Veriton X270-ED7400X is Acer's simple $500 business PC, targeted at the budding entrepreneur.

Compact chassis. eSATA port. Sub-$500 business PC. Expandable. No power brick. HDMI port. Comes with both Vista Business and XP. Easy to service.

Processor lacks Intel VT (Virtualization Technology) and TXT (Trusted Execution Technology). Comes with some crapware. Relatively short standard warranty.

Quick & Quiet!

I bought this PC to process video files - PERIOD! The necessity to have to fight with the embedded sound system is a nuisance, at the least! There are four 'Speaker Out' jacks on the rear panel with absolutely NO DOCUMENTATION for how they should be...

Extremely quick, and especially great w/ multi-tasking. Also, it's VERY quiet

The documentation for the system 'features' is abysmal ; The pre-loaded bloat-ware reduces a relatively quick and responsive PC to P-III *(or worse) status! Plan to delete it immediately, or format and re-install XP (from a CLEAN installation CD)....

How's the cooling?

To all the people who already own this PC, how's the cooling? In particular, I'd like to know if there's a fan in front of the hard drive cage, sucking air in from the front of the case and then over the hard drives. If not, are there provisions to...

Looks impressive

Don't have it yet

Nice Machine

When it arrived, the SATA cable to the DVD drive was not connected. When you open the case, the BIOS detects it gives you an annoying message and you have to hit F1 to continue. I was unable to get this message to go away no matter what setting I used...

This machine is fast and extremely QUIET. I love the peace in my office now

Yes it does come with Acer e-empower crapware (why do they do this?) but it wasn't hard to get rid of it via the control panel

QUIET and FAST - very nice machine

I've spent a lot of time (6 months) and money trying to build a quiet machine. I bought this machine for gaming mainly - I expected a loud fan, etc. This thing is practically SILENT!! quad-core and 4G of ram, and the thing is SILENT. Seriously. If I...

QUIET. Plenty of RAM. Did I mention Quiet? quad-core 2.4Ghz - very fast. Also - it's quiet

None that I can think of. Wish it came with a better video card for 3d, but the existing is fine if you don't need 3d - and it has a PCI-Express 16 slot for adding a good graphics card. (ASUS EN8600GT SILENT is what I got from Newegg)

Unwanted Software

The crapware problem is almost epidemic among the major computer suppliers.

Quad core gives it a lot of speed

Comes with so much crapware as to be virtually unusable. I've had to rebuild the software base from the ground up

It's a good system that is able to handle simultaneuous image editing and publishing software. I'd recommend this system purely because I have not experienced a severe fault with it.

Good system that that does not crash as soon as you turn it on. I run multiple applications at once and it seems to cope with the load. Only on a rare event does the computer ever crash. The mouse and keyboard that comes with the package is basic...

No real flaws with the system.

Acer Veriton M464 E7300 2GB 640GB

Quiet, good number of USB ports on front.

Memory card reader on front seems a little slow - quicker to do it via USB with card still in camera.

Acer Veriton M464 E7300 2GB 640GB

So far it has been 100% reliable. The software bundle was good, especially as it contained a copy of XP pro to replace Vista if reguired. I was a newcomer to Vista and opted to stick to it.

The only minor niggle is that I find that opening the DVD/CD Drive is a little awkward

Acer Veriton M464 E7300 2GB 640GB

Solid, fast processor. Excellent ram and plenty of disk storage space. Operationally very quiet and energy efficient. Good choice and number of different inputs - USB2 ports, cards, headphones and microphone.
