Good Stuff

I got this thing back in 2012 and it's still trucking strong! Never had any issues with it

Besides the fact that it's an older model and I am sure there could be a better one I can't think of any cons

Antec 550W Power Supply

Bought this for the custome pc that I am working on, haven't had any problems with it came well packed and delivered fast. Does the job well and for a decent price

When i did a exterior view of the box one of the power plugs seemed to have a bit of white residue not 100%sure on what it could be but it was easily scraped off so not the biggest concern in the world

1st one DOA, 2nd one GTG

After Newegg RMA'd and shipped the second unit very quickly, the new PSU worked like a champ and has been working ever since March 2010.

I have been using the second PSU I received for almost three years now. Currently have Athlon X3 450, Radeon 6870, Sound Blaster X-Fi, two HDD's, one DVD, and several fans running

First one arrived DOA. I replaced an old, cheap PSU that finally died after several years with this one. Naturally, when the PC didn't even attempt to boot with this BP550, I thought it was the motherboard that was bad. I finally traced the problem to...

great psu for the $$$ ive used a few and had no issues yet

no blue LED

Does what it's supposed to.

If you've got ANY plans to overclock your CPU and/or GPU at any amount, look elsewhere. This PSU does the minimum requirement of a PSU and maybe a tad more.

It powers my PC and can manage well on an average-high work load

My case is black, PSU is grey ; Has an extremely high-pitched tone/whine when left on/standby ; Isn't able to make the cut on a high-demand work load from a GTX 660 and FX-8350. Its inability to supply ample power to the GPU causes it to freeze up when...

Planned obsolescence

I bought this on 12/24/2010, so its got one month left on warranty. A few weeks ago, the PC started randomly seizing upon startup. When that happens, I have to force the power down and restart. Seven days ago, the control board inside a Seagate...

Quiet. Worked well within the warranty period

Obviously designed with planned obsolescence in mind

Still going strong

Bought on 7/2009 ; Still going strong powering a X4 945 then a i5 2500k @4.4ghz and a ATI 4970

Not as modular as others

This one went in my home office build! Looking forward to many years of service. I have an old Antec 450 in a PIII dual socket 370 it's 14years old still works great!

Very reliable semi-modular PSU...I have used Antec for years never let me down. You can pay more money for the "name" PSU's and they are great too but for a budget build you won't go wrong with ANTEC
