Apple MacBook 13-inch (Aluminum)

If history is any indication, an expensive price tag and a meager feature set won't matter much because design is what ultimately sells Apple laptops.

Aluminum design is absolutely gorgeous. Half a pound lighter than the original MacBook. Glass screen adds to its overall sex appeal. Unique touchpad that incorporates the mouse click. Adds gesture capabilities to touchpad. Excellent typing experience....

Omitting a media card reader hurts point-and-shooters. No ExpressCard slot for expansion. No more Firewire. Smaller battery than the original MacBook

Apple MacBook 13-inch (Penryn)

The Apple MacBook 13-inch will continue to fly off the shelves because of the company's reputation, but change is due.

Improved battery life. Fast processor. Excellent support network. Sturdy exterior. Sound environmental practices. Excellent software bundle

Feature set continues to trail the competition. Design and weight need a revamp. This configuration is relatively pricey

Not a home run

Contra Cisco Cheng, what Mac users are buying is a superior OS, not merely style. This is not one of Apple's best efforts, and it shows a disturbing lack of attention to consumer needs in some ways, but it is still quite a good machine -- if you want...

Major upgrade on internals and a beautiful case

Much faster FSB now 1066 and no more 3GB memory limit. Of course the battery is smaller as the Video uses less power, the CPU uses less power, the memory uses less power. Everything faster and better while keeping the same battery life (industry...

Another miss - The Palin of computers...

all looks but not much substance. No firewire support, No HDMI, No ExpressCard slot, smaller battery while boosting graphics with a more powerful graphics card. What are the positives? Just beauty, period.
