ASRock VisionX 321B Ivy Bridge HTPC Review

We check out the Ivy Bridge sporting HTPC from ASRock called the VisionX 321B. It's got surprisingly good performance, but will the price turn you off? Let's see.

EXCELLENT and tough

I installed a SSD drive and W7. It actually lives outside on the porch where it runs 24/7 through temps from 15 degrees to over 110. It receives a wireless signal from my weather station and updates to the web every couple minutes. It also serves to...

Small, and tough, did I mention small

In my application, none

Do not give ASROCK your money!!

When it works, its nice

Like everyone else reviewing this product, I have the Power Supply - Motherboard - Detonation issue. My first unit was working fine, until I moved it to my living room and plugged it back in. When I plugged it in, I heard the pop, and knew it was over....

Great HTPC Now that its working!

This is a great HTPC solution now that I have one that is not DOA (read my previous reviews). Has been running smooth for several months now with Windows 7 Media Center and a Ceton InfiniTV 4 USB tuner ; Best part is that I never have to think about...

Took two DOA units before I got a good one

Quiet, powerful, stylish

A bit pricey. Secondary HDD installation could be a little simpler. Remote control has no back light

Avoid - should have known better

Specs look great on paper

Huge problem with quality control on these - I've had to return two because the power supply blows out the moment you turn it on - even hooked up to an expensive power strip that's never caused any other problems for plenty of other computer equipment...

Died on 2nd day

It looks like I will need to buy the extended warranty to have some peace of mind, also not awesome.

Compact, quiet, speedy. Comes pretty well-equipped (4GB RAM, 750GB HDD, Ivy Bridge)

Expensive, Died after 18 hours. One of the HDD screws was cross-threaded. I installed a Momentus XT as the primary drive since the supplied 750GB unit was a sluggish 5400-rpm version. Well to get to the mounting holes for the 2nd drive, you have to...
