Asus Essentio CM6870-US-3AC

If you've been waiting patiently for Intel's latest Third-Generation Core processors (code-named "Ivy Bridge") to arrive before buying a new PC, the good news is, they've finally arrived. We just finished looking at Intel's latest high-end desktop...

Fast productivity performance, thanks to new Ivy Bridge processor ; Large 2TB hard drive ; Great expansion options

Gaming performance could be better for a system in this price range ; Internal fans are noticeably noisy during bootup

With its new-for-2012 Intel Ivy Bridge processor, this Essentio tower is a powerhouse productivity and entertainment system for the price. Plus, once it shows its age, options for internal upgrades will be plentiful.

"ASUS will not help you"

Don't pass it by!

Excellent computer. Well built, and I like the ASUS Bios and its customizations! Handles games with ease, and yet is very easy to use as a home or business machine. It's quite fast, and has lots of features.

FYI

I'd sell the power supply and the graphics card and buy better ones. FYI - The product link takes you to the ASUS homepage. The complete specs can be found by searching for "CM6870" there.

Cheaper than buying separate components to build your own: CPU ~$300, Motherboard ~$80, 16GB DDR3 SDRAM ~$75, Blu-ray ~$50, 2GB Hard Drive ~$100, Graphics Card ~$50, Windows 7 ~$100, Windows 8 Upgrade $15, Case ~$50, Card Reader ~$20, Keyboard and...

a lemon

The computer has a feel of a build-it-yourself minimalistic approach to user interface. This means no bloatware but appears very rudimentary. The specs of the computer look great and the price is extremely competitive so one would expect that this...

None

This is a lemon. The case is plastic and flimsy. The ON button appears as if it is half-broken. The USB ports and other ports appear poorly constructed and barely fit any plug-ins ; After the initial boot, it had problem with installing Windows and the...

It was a gift...

So I get my Christmas gift today. I had no clue this was coming my way. I undo the old Vista box that has served me well for the last 5 years, and hook up this thing.
