Got this for a display kiosk and as such it works ok, swapped the 8GBSSD for a 320GB spinner (Easy) and it was fine but as an everyday computer it may be a bit too slow

Yes, their is no OS on this machine when you buy it. It's not a big deal at all we are slowly getting rid of optical software in our day to day lives, install your OS from USB drive! Don't give a product a bad raiting when everything is in front of you...

Machine looks pretty nice, but the OS does not come preloaded. They provide you a DVD with the OS. However, this unit does not have a dvd reader.In other words this unit is a bookend unless you have an external drive.Could they have preloaded it? Could...

I own numerous ASUS eee machines and never had a problem. It's sold as a desktop with 8gb of storage. There is a Windows 7 disk that comes with the product. You can not load that OS on a 8 gb hard drive. So now I have a desktop that will not run the OS...
