Most affordable all-in-one PC on the market ; semiportable and easy to set up, thanks to its small size and self-contained design ; boasts a touch interface with a few useful apps
Touch software only semiuseful ; decent performance for an Atom system, but horrid compared with similarly priced laptops and desktops
Thanks to its price, size, touch screen, and semiportability, the Asus Eee Top ET1602 presents a lot of usage options. Put it in the kitchen, den, or even a hallway, and it can serve as an easy information hub for your family. Just don't put it on a ...
With no battery, the Eee Top can't compete with laptops for portability, but...
When considering a touchscreen computer with a $600 street price, you'd naturally expect compromises. But with the Eeee Top ET1602, Asus made only one that's left us scratching...
Inexpensive ; compact size ; integrated touchscreen ; can be wall mounted ; very low power consumption
No DVD drive ; terrible speakers
Netbooksthose tiny, low-priced laptops geared mainly to Web surfinghave become increasingly ubiquitous in the PC marketplace. Nettops are their desktop equivalentslesser known, but retaining the same low-power/low-price orientation as the netbooks. ...
Compact all-in-one PC. It runs Windows. Nice styling. Touch screen
Only 1GB of RAM. Smallish mouse lacks back button. Weak 3D graphics. Can't run most of our benchmark tests. Screen is single-touch only. No Internet security software included ; Watch the ASUS Eee Top 1602
The ASUS Eee Top 1602 is the first truly integrated all-in-one nettop. The Eee Top may create a new categorythink of it as the new Internet terminal that replaces your desktop (which is what WebTV or Audrey tried to do).
But while both of those require an external display, the ASUS Eee Top 1602's...
This is some awesome hardware, makes a great kiosk, point of sale, or friendly basic home computer. Our company just bought 12 more to turn into point of sale systems (after installing Eeebuntu Base OS)
Bright crisp screen, awesome touchscreen functionality, quiet, uses very little power, sturdy case and stand, I was expecting less, and pleasantly suprised how solid a unit this is, good WiFi, lots of USB ports, and the hardware, even the touchscreen is w...
The WinXP install is a kludge, Asus's cutsy add-ons are fluff, and the on screen keyboard (under WinXP) is odd at best. I installed Eeebuntu added the evtouch driver and properly configured the screen resolution and am impressed with how fast and useful t...
ASUS has long been my brand of choice. it's good to see them innovating. I bought this comp as a kitchen appliance to access cooks illustrated and stream radio paradise. in that capacity it's working well. i expected the usual Taiwanese approach to the cu...
Compact, touch screen, if they ever actually sell the VESA mount it'll be a very nice kitchen appliance. better than expected sound quality from built in speakers. i'd still recommend external speakers for music
touch screen is a bit sluggish and imprecise. calibration utility mentioned in owners manual not actually installed on computer. obviously not the most speedy processor. memory upgrade harder than it should be. ASUS easy touch software a joke. display ang...
I'm thoroughly impressed again by Asus. The unit is not unpleasent to look at, and the feature set is hand over fist worth every penny. You're not getting a power machine here, and you should know that if you are planning on purchasing on the bleeding ed...
Price point is awesome. They aren't overcharging for adding a touch screen (since hackers know true cost after doing mods to the netbooks for a while now) and the initial install is zippy enough for general computer usage
I'll have to reconfigure it heavily for standard kiosk usage, but that's not something I can expect a consumer product to provide out of box. A way to hook up a second monitor would be great, but I would not expect it at this price ; And...the name....Asu...
