"What more could you want for the price!"

If you built this yourself, you would pay in ...

Quad Core, I TB of storage, room to expand and add a video card and bets of all 8 GB of RAM

For the price, I paid $499 for a refrub'd, I don't have any except the case is ugly and the front drop panel to access the USB ports should have been integrated better. It is a little ackward to access the four lower ports

"Excellent All-around Multi Media with fair gaming."

Good for image and light video edit, excellent graphics for quality display, and fair gaming with settings at medium-low. Is very functional and quite speedy

Is slightly laggish in games or simulations that require physics, can occasionally slow during intensive processes. Upgrade-ability is less than expected but fair components are already present to start with

I use this machine for doing my school work in Office 2007, Power Point and gaming on-line with my friends when I have the time. I have no major issues plenty usb's and ports back and front. sleek look if you like it, I do

400watt PS, decent KB, ok mouse, PS should be minimum 600-700 watt. On-board graphics just aren't there for me. sound is not powerful enough, overclocking is not possible, short a few fans for tower this size, Asus software is not up to par at all

We are running a small home business with a great deal of word processing, blogging, E-mail and other internet activity. The Asus Essentio is perfect for our needs. And thanks to CNET for their well-written review. That really helped us with our decision.

Fast, lots of storage and memory, generous number of USB ports, good price

Some of the the Asus proprietary, utility software features less-than perfect, and in some cases hilarious, English. I had no use for the programs and configured them to not start at boot up time

If you built this yourself, you would pay in the around $725 to $775. For $499 no shipping no tax it was a steal. Frickin fast, room to expand, no bloatware. Good job ASUS. I am a new customer of your desktops!!!!

I would definitely recommend this product. With a very competitive price and good functionality this is an excellent budget gaming computer, and stands out with a modern styling and a statement announcing that this computer is not just any computer,...

We are a volunteer fire department, which means we are on a budget. We purchased two of these and have had no issues. Over powered, and yet saved us about $300 total. We do not anticipate having to upgrade for several years.

A lot of power and upgrade room for an excellent price! Windows 7! 1 TB harddrive space! 3 style video connections, 1GB LAN, 8Gb RAM -> Upgradeable to 16Gb

Motherboard has 6 SATA, but only 4 spaces in the case. A lot of open space for air movement, but no case fans. Funny slope for front of case. Doesn't look nice, ut if you can get past that, this PC is SWEET

Plenty of hard drive space, good in the RAM department, overall speed is great. And the price ain't bad either

Overkill on tower size, can't open case without voiding the warrenty

Asus has been making quality products (mother boards) for decades. I am glad Asus is here, giving dell and hp something to get behind. The unbiased editor in this review talks about this PC as if it was meant to run "as is" off the shelf. Yes, it is...

This PC is roomy with the ability to take high end upgrades with a modest power supply purchase. Inexpensive, yet very well built

Comes with 400 watt power supply which is fine, even if you install a low end gaming card for graphics, but if you are like me, then you upgrade a few things and turn this capable machine into an ultra high end power house capable of ALL

Product Specifications

Cutting-edge performance, uncompromised reliability, user-centric utilities, all these values encapsulated with a stunningly futuristic chassis of form and function. Meet the ASUS Essentio desktop, designed to deliver your foes into the oblivion while you march towards victory. Powered by the Intel Core 2 Quad processor for lightning fast multi-tasking, the ASUS Essentio brings you astonishing visual enjoyment with surreal graphics courtesy of a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce graphics card, as well as the massive storage capability of the hard disk drive and a high definition surround sound for games, videos, and movies. The ASUS EPU (Energy Processing Unit) provides total system power management by detecting current PC loadings and intelligently moderating power in real-time. It automatically provides the most appropriate power usage for the CPU, VGA card, and hard drives - helping to save power and money. In minimalist design, form follows function. ASUS Essentio CG5270 reflects this philosophy with its tilted form which facilitates the entry of cool air to the chassis from below. This improvement allows the fans to spin slower and keeps noise to a minimum. As well as being cool on the inside, Essentio is cool to the touch with its anodized aluminum bezel and steel chassis. These carefully selected materials and finishes ensure that it will look great in any modern interior.
