Review Of The Asus Essentio CG5290- BP007

The Asus Essentio CG5290- BP007 surely attracts a lot of attention... all thanks to its pricing and the features it has to offer. This system is basically made for all the gaming aficionados. It surely lacks the killer polishing of all its competitors,...

Won't burn a hole in your pocket. Phenomenonal functioning in day to day software as well as an excellent 3-D gaming desktop

The motherboard and the power supply fail to support upgrades. No Blu-ray drive

: It surely offers one of the best gaming features with killer graphics. It is also one of the fastest gaming PC’s on the shelves at the moment. Unlike its boutique competitors it surely lacks a lot in the glamour department but that’s the least they...

Very poor QA

I would consider this computer a 'mechanics special' Do not purchase this unit expecting to repair it.

Cost

GPU didn't have case retention clip installed (was missing) This caused the GPU to fallout during shipping and damage the GPU and a capacitor on the motherboard. (was able to repair in house) ; Power supply has a motherboard standoff inside of it,...

Extremely Fast. But Fails

If you know a lot about computers or are patient enough to mess with this to get it going smooth then this will be a amazing machine. But if you expect nothing to go wrong when you get this item then i reccomend not to buy it.

This computer ran everything i put at it with the highest setting with 60 fps

It literally froze and shutdown every other time i used it. Also sometimes it wouldnt show any picture because of a bad graphics card. Wouldnt turn on about 50% of the time after the first day

ASUS CG5290

I receive my computer two days ago and upon taking the computer out of the box I saw that the inputs (sound, usb, etc.) weren't there and the metal piece that keeps the graphics card in place was bent. When I opened it up I noticed the motherboard was...

Extremely fast and responsive. Case is large and has a great deal of airspace. Computer is built for gaming. Computer comes with software that can assist you in overclocking, modifying power settings and customization

Power supply is only 500w w/ a single rail. CPU fan doesn't keep the processor below 57°C. The 9 Gigs of RAM takes all six RAM slots. Video card seating problems are common

ASUS Essentio CG5290-BP007 Intel Core i7 920(2.66GHz) 9GB DDR3 1TB HDD Capacity NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

Basically bought for gaming. It was a major upgrade from my my low end core 2 duo, 2 gigs ram, and hd 4350. LOL

Running games on max with no problems so far. some have complained about the psu but so far so good. There is a cpu power up which will over clock u to 2.93 ghz, Which is great for gaming

Graphics card popped out of its place during set up, had to turn system off and reposition it. HUGE CASE ! personally i didnt have any problems fitting it on my desk, although i see how others would. My only real complaint with this system is that i...

PS: Six months and no problems. Recertified means all problems fixed and better than new.

This is without a doubt the best computer for the money ; I looked for three weeks, studied, researched, and found this the best. Think about it i7 - 920 (Fast), 9 GB Memory (High, more than I need), a great video card, and 64 -bit ; I keep a computer...

The only con I can think of is that Windows 7 would be nice to have, but Vista x64 with all the updates is close and it still has email incorporated into it. Which is what I like

Be Cautious

As a previous reviewer has already said if your not prepared to rebuild do not buy. Expect for the first one that you order to be broken. I am hopeful that Newegg will send me out another one that actually will function.

It arrived in a box at my house, and wasn't stolen

Video would come out only randomly. It wasn't packaged very well so I can only assume that it was damaged during shipping ; Upon inspection of the desktop noticed that the PCI port the video card is inserted into was damaged. Most likely do to whoever...

Great Deal

I had purchased three. 1 a year ago and two recently. One recent one DOA. I love the two I got those, even as big and ugly as they are. Everyone one of them has had a video card seating problem. You must check inside before firing it up..... NEWEGG...

Excellent Value for parts received. If it survives shipping, it is a great all powerful machine. Like the wizard of OZ RAm is DDR3 1333mhz 5 slots for ram

U*S Delivery. 1 DOA out of three purchased ; price was better a week ago 12/2010 ; I am pretty sure the temp help at the"delivery Service provider trashed the 2nd one I ordered. Everyone had an unseated video card. I have to believe most of these...

Buyer Beware

My vid card was loose and the system bluescreened out of the box. If you are not prepared to rebuild this machine do not buy it. I have it running in an Antec Mini P180 and it works like a champ. Unbeatable deal.

OEM Rampage II Gene motherboard and great deal on the parts; Delta 500w PSU not too bad

Motherboard lacks SLI and RAID capability in BIOS; very poor cooling in the case; very poor assembly
