ASRock Core 100HT Home Theater PC Review

Desktop PCs of 3 or more years ago were power hungry enough that most users shut them down while they were not in use. Today's low-power nettop platform has stunned the world with how small PCs can be if you can afford to sacrifice a little of today's...

The ASRock Core 100HT has a sleek footprint that allows you to put it anywhere in your home theater and will deliver the performance you need without the power demand of a traditional desktop PC.

ASRock Core 100HT-BD Home Theater PC

ASRock delivers a Wii-sized home theater PC (HTPC) with a powerful Core i3 CPU, Intel HD Graphics, and a Blu-ray drive. We put the Core 100HT-BD ...

But as personal video recorders (PVRs) become more prolific, as the line between a PC monitor and a living room-based TV blurs, and as Mom begins to rely on email and the Internet as much as I do, the HTPC becomes increasingly viable as an appliance....

ASRock Core 100HT-BD (Mini Core i3 HTPC) Review

ASRock Core 100HT Nettop Review

At the end of last year week took a look at one of ASRock's first nettop the ION 330HT, which was built around Intel's Atom processor. With the release of Intel's Core processors ASRock rebuilt their nettop series around this new architecture. These...

Small form factor ; Capable of HD video playback ; HDMI out ; Built-in wireless networking ; USB 3.0 ; Included remote

Would have rather the USB 3.0 ports be on the back

It is great to see ASRock update their Nettop line of products with these new models that feature Intel’s new Core Series processors. While the ION 300HT still performs great and would work for anyone looking for a home theater PC, these new processors...

ASRock Core 100HT-BD

An attractive, nettop-sized HTPC offering desktop-like performance and features, including Blu-ray and USB 3.0.

Compact ; Attractive ; Excellent port selection

Busy front panel ; Poor for gamers ; Cheap-looking remote

ASRock has managed to stuff all the features, connectivity and power most home cinema enthusiasts will need into its reasonably attractive little black box. The Core 100HT-BD is a nettop-sized HTPC offering desktop-like performance at a very reasonable...

Nice unit; poor assembly

Great for trade show travel, since it's small and quiet.

Very good performance for a nettop. FAR better than any Atom box I've used (and I've used a couple, including dual core 525 ion2 systems)

I had to disassemble it and fix it to get any of the ports in the back to align with the case. The alignment was so bad that all of the USB, network, and hdmi ports were unusable. Only the vga port worked prior to fixing it. (Minus 1 star) ; Does not...

Nice box, poor graphics drivers support

Small, quiet

Linux does not support the built in video controller, limiting video output to 640x480. This is quiet disappointing since I purchased it as a Mythbuntu frontend. Windows drivers are somewhat better, but overscan isn't adjustable which leaves the...

Great little PC

This unit isn't for 3D games as you might expect, but for an HTPC or normal for watching HD movies, surfing the web, it's fantastic. It's probably the smallest of its kind for the speed. I would recommend this over any current Atom system for normal...

Tiny, shiny, fast, plays 1080p just fine, doesn't get too hot under load, and is stable... PC is quiet, can install two 2.5" drives, drive doesn't get over 110F degrees, has USB 3.0, has 4GB RAM installed (instead of 2GB, can go up to 8GB total),...

Mostly nitpicking, but ; Two USB 3.0 ports are on the front, but none on the back. There are six USB 2.0 ports on the back. It would be nice to have two rear USB 3.0 ports ; No DVI port (but there is an included HDMI to DVI converter that works fine) ;...

Really Nice HTPC

Initially loaded Linux Mint. I am not a linux guru so I could not get full functionality. Such as audio over hdmi, remote control and wireless N encrypted networking. I loaded windows 7 and the system really took off. After drivers and apps were...

Small Form Factor, great performance, usb 3.0, really as complete a unit as you will find short of sourcing and building a machine yourself ; HD playback up to 1080i was flawless both from the machine and over the network. I don't have any 1080p media...

No OS included, for the price it would be nice to see Windows 7 loaded as this machine really seems to be built for that OS ; Only reason for 4 star rating was Price/No OS
