Dell Precision T7400

Though sleeker and less imposing than the hulking black Precision 690 that the T7400 replaces, the long X-shaped metal bar at the front of this workstation still announces...

Flexibility to add processors

Irrelevant components ; 32-bit OS ; poor performance ; small hard disk

Very oddly indeed, Dell has included two Quadro FX 1700 graphics cards, which use nVidia's SLI techology to boost real-time 3D graphics performance. This is great for 3D artists and others with high-end needs - but at this level, it makes little...

Got it Right. Super Quiet and Cool, Can't bottleN

Had this for about 6 months now. dual cpus, 4 gigs ram, Win 7 OS 64 bit. I absolutely would recommend this computer to those who demand the best for the best price. This is my 40th comp back to the 286x at Jand R days. I needed the slots for 4...

so far so good and impressive

I was originally very close to submit an order for a brand new 7400 with basic configuration of 3.0 GHz dual quad and 16gb ram (I also considered 8gb ram due to budge concern). Fortunately,I took a look at dell outlet and found a certified refurbished...

Unclear website

It is unclear if these systems come with 1 x quad core or 2 x quad core xeons. Either way it appears that it is cheaper to buy a Mac Pro with Fusion/parallels + windows getting a machine that can boot into both windows and mac or run windows from...

Great workhorse

Dont bother with any x64 bit OS for another couple of years (XP or Vista) as much software & drivers sren't yet compatible with it.

Very sturdy & ; very powerful workstation. Totally quiet. Well built. Could last for ever, i have had it for 1 year now. Excellent customer & ; technical service. Super fast build & ; delivery

The only issues were Windows XP x64 bit USB/Firewire port driver compatability, but the Dell tech guys did their uptmost to eventually resolve the issues

In our small office we have 9 Dell workstations. Some we got new, others were used and purchased for back-up systems. When we buy a new Workstation we get the fastest thing we can and this T7400 is definitely FAST. The difference in speed tells me we...

It's the fastest system I've ever used. It replaced a Dell 670 3.8Ghz dual that was fast. I use Solidworks and do a lot of FEA analysis, what used to take 6-8hr now takes 45 minutes to an hour. System: Dual 3.4Ghz X5272 Dual-Core, 32Gb ram, PERC6I Raid...

It wasn't free, But it did pay for itself real quick

Great Workstation

I've always built from scratch but I'm starting to change my ways. I'd rather buy and start gaming instead of figuring out if components are compatible.

Fast, 8-processor cores, lots of RAM, good RAID support, very reliable

None really~ The only negative I would say is the premium Dell charges for 4GB RAM modules... if your buying these at full price you'll pay dearly for 16GB of ram
