Dell Studio Slim

The $814 Dell Studio Slim lives up to its name: This stylish, narrow PC would look great under a desk or next to a coffee table. Unfortunately, the compact design also means that the notion of upgrading is merely wishful thinking.

Above-average performance ; HDMI port

Limited upgradeability ; Low gaming performance for the graphics card

The compact Dell Studio Slim provides above-average application performance and connectivity, but upgrades are limited.

Dell Studio Slim Review

Dell has made an effort in recent months to really turn around their product offerings with regards to style and design.

Stylish exterior ; Blu-ray drive ; Lots of video and audio ports ; Ready-to-use HTPC

Glossy front finish is fingerprint magnet ; Hinges covering mediabay and optical drive could be sturdier ; Using external IR receiver and IR blasters could make hookups messy

Dell has created a stylish desktop that could easily be at home on a desk or as part of a larger home theater setup. The Studio Slim is an attractive, compact desktop that ends up being very capable without being too expensive. Windows Vista Home...

Dell Studio Slim review

We were pleased to see Dell use a 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 CPU in the Dell Studio Slim - this is no baby processor by any stretch of the imagination. But it's also no Core i7, and other machines at this price point have managed to include...

In overall performance and usability, the Dell Studio Slim is a solid value desktop PC. Slightly less-expensive value PCs don't offer nearly as great a mix of storage and connectivity as this system does. But there's more to a PC than its ability to...

Dell Studio Slim

Earlier this year Dell added new models to its compact Studio desktop range. Unlike the eye-catching and diminutive Studio Hybrid (from £429), the Studio Desktop (from £349) and Studio Slim (from £429) go for boxy rather than curvy. Still a lot smaller...

The Studio Slim certainly isn’t as sexy as the Studio Hybrid, but its piano black finish is passable – especially for home workers and small businesses wanting to slot the machine neatly on a desk or next to a coffee table in either a vertical or...

Studio Slim Q8200

I purchased my studio slim through the Dell outlet website (base unit only with discount came to £310 delivered or $500 approx) about 3 months ago. Out of the box it probably only deserves 4 stars at this price but after upgrading from the Radeon...

Great Buy

I've been using the Studio Slim for about 3 months now and I am extremely satisfied with it. Pros: The computer is extremely quick and very quiet. It looks great with the glossy finish. Computer boots in under a minute and shuts down in seconds. I use...

Quite Impressed

A very nice PC (R211208AU) with gloss finish and the large 23.5" monitor is great. Purchased at $1,379 with a discount code + speakers thrown in. Was disappointed the price came down another about $100 the following week, but that is the way it is. ...

Pros: Small form factor. Strong case. Quiet PSU fan and additional fan. Cons: The panel that conceals the card reader is a bit flimsy. PSU Fan is NOISY. Bewarned this PC cannot be used in a living room. The noise eill drive everyone crazy.
