Dell Studio XPS sx8100-2777NBC

In addition to the external expansion, the sx8100-2777NBC has a decent amount of internal space as well. There's space for an additional hard drive and one optical drive. Two internal SATA ports on the motherboard service these drives, though the ports...

Plethora of ports. Core i7 performance. Great 3D performance. No bloatware. Best Buy PC app. 802.11a/b/g/n 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networking

No Blu-ray. Internal SATA ports are tricky to get to. Only one PCI slot available

Bad Hard drives -- Bad graphics card -- much trouble

My wife and I bought two of these XPS Dells from Best Buy -- Both are still within warranty -- The first week I had to reformat one of the hard drives and reload the OS, drivers, etc. My wife's hard drive went out within 6months and three weeks ago I...

Fast and quiet

keeps breaking down

Bad Hard Drive

Worked fine, although I haven't reviewed any other computers of this generation

The hard drive "failed", so they replaced it with something that didn't work quite the same

Dell: defective products; abominable customer service

In 2009 I ordered an XPS and an external hard drive. The hard drive was paid for but never arrived. My emails to ?Customer Service? about this were ignored. I never got what I paid for.

Familiarity with the software

Communications to Dell about a missing item, overcharges and product quality were met with antagonism, indifference and ignorance

No more Dells in my home or office

System never worked properly. The O/S had to be reinstalled within 30 days. The Motherboard failed within three months. The Intel i-5 burned out two months later. The power supply was not able to properly power a second HDD for RAID or a second DVD...

Nice case and video card; nothing else

Flimsy power supply, poor design that does not allow heat exaust and lower than average quality of M/B and RAM sticks

Dell Studio XPS sx8100-1986NBC

This is my first Dell and so far I do not have any Cons. I use it primarily for photo editing and processing. I'm very impressed with the speed of this computer. Where my previous PC took 20 minutes to process a batch of photos the XPS 8100 takes less...

Fast application speeds

At this time none

Dell Studio XPS sx8100-1986NBC

I placed my order on September 14th. I upgraded to a 1GB Video Card. Also upgraded from 6 to 8GB ram. Also added a 24" monitor, and next day delivery. Fedex came to my door on Sept. 20th around 11am. Only 6 days to order, manufacture, and deliver. All...

Windows 7 (64 bit), Fast Processor, Very Quiet running, Fast Build and Delivery

Needs a better Graphics card to take advantage of the systems offerings. Ah! Also the fact that when I upgrade the graphics card is I will have to get a larger power supply

Dell Studio XPS sx8100-1408NBC

POS! I blew through 2 brand new Dell Studio 8100's Intel i5, 1 terabyte HD, 8GB mem in less than 14 days, and I was mad as hell, especially after transferring all my files over. The first Dell came with the infamous Nvidia GT220 card. The computer...

It did what I expected it to do, and more, especially with gaming, not real extensive, and also photography editing

Gargabe PSU, 350 watts. Nvidia GT220, if unfortunate to have that one in there, blue screens, memory issues
