Dell's strongest chassis design in years; highly capable jack-of-all-trade configuration; strong customer support options
Not as fast or as affordable as some of its off-the-shelf competition; a few missing features; power hog
The Dell Studio XPS 435 successfully overcomes our bias against desktops that claim to be experts at everything through charming case design and a strong configuration at a relatively fair price. It misses greatness because of a handful of minor ...

Outstanding performance for sub-$1,500 PC ; configurable options let you get a Core i7 CPU for less than $1,000
Competing systems have more exciting features ; limited upgrade path

Minmal crapware. Runs anything that I can throw at it, but I'm not a super gamer. I did run Doom3 with no problems. My first system with Vista and I'm happy (sorry Vista haters)
Fan, or should I say blower, is noisy. It's a smooth noise, but loud. It rarely comes on. My Best-Buy purchase only came with 4GB RAM. You need to add 2MB additional to take advantage of the tri-channel.

8 cores of intel, fast*ish, even cheaper refurbished
fan is stupid loud : meaning it can be quite but then turns up 100% and is really loud at times. Not as fast as the hype. Still has a 7200 rpm HDD, DDR3 Mem has high latency.
