eMachines T6212

eMachines, best known for their affordable computer systems has introduced a PC desktop system designed from the ground up for gamers. Now let's get real here. When you think eMachines, you probably think low-budget systems with non-upgradeable...

Upgradeable; strong processor; plenty of memory; lots of USB & FireWire inputs

Finicky DVD writer; mediocre gaming performance; loud hard drive

In the end, the eMachines T6212 is the best deal we have seen for under $600 dollars. Period.

The unit comes with a respectable software package (Nero OEM burning software, the non-Word version of Microsoft Works, Money 2005, Norton Internet Security 2005, and McAfee AntiSpyware), which should be enough to keep most home users happy out of the...

Dual-layer DVD writer. Media card readers. SATA-capable system. Athlon 64 performance. PCIe x16 slot for future expansion. ATI Radeon Xpress 200 graphics. Large (160GB) hard drive

Ball mouse. Only one additional drive bay. Shared memory puts a strain on performance

The eMachines T6212 is great for students or home-office users looking for a system that will grow along with their needs. It's also appropriate for power users who want an inexpensive base system to experiment with and upgrade over the long term.

This PC is not as bad as people make it out to be. I have one myself, I use it for everyday computing. Let's just say you get what you pay for with this system.

My T2792 mysteriously would not turn on after coming home from vacations. Picked up this used PC from a local on Craigslist. Bumped up the ram to 1.5 GB and it has been an excellent new addition to the family. Very snappy and can handle multiple...
