As a Linux HTPC

I gave this a ranking of 4 stars based on it meeting my wants, which was making a Linux based HTPC. The one big drawback it has to that end is the lack of 1080p resolution. For me this doesn't matter as the largest resolution of any of my digital media...

Small & Sleek ; Hardware Video Decoder (Broadcom Crystal HD BCM71005) ; HDMI Output

Max 1366x768 resolution ; Max 4GB Ram ; RAM/HD install somewhat difficult ; No USB 3.0

Must Chime In

Had to post after reading ALL the memory woes. I have just 1 one solution to offer. Actually it is a Microsoft brainchild -Ready Boost. Git yourself some " quality " SDHC memory ,use the card slot, and assign the 4 Gb SD card to Ready Boost. You may be...

This is a great form factor to turn any pre-smart TV - smart. Has plenty inputs for even the most savvy techno-geek. Does 64 bit with grace

Support is rather limited so that is where the value of Newegg comes in. Hibernation is given new meaning on this unit. The GMA 3150 is strangled when it comes to Linux distros

Pretty decent machine

This is the third of these computers that I've bought with several months between purchases. The other two are used for various different things in testing before I step up to more expensive machine that need to handle heavier loads. So far so good.

Works well, installed Windows Server 2008R2 Standard on this one to use as a network management computer. No problems doing a generic instal from disk and using the Windows 7 64 bit drivers to get everything working. The free SSD was a definite bonus....

Wish it had the ability to use more RAM, would like 8Gb

Powerful little boxes

I purchased 19 of these for workstations along with G.Skill 4gb memory modules. Every single one of these booted right up without a single issue. The 1.8ghz dual core atom surpassed my expectations. Power saving is amazing compared to the Pentium 4...

Opening the housing can be difficult the first time. Sometimes the screws don't come out all the way and they will bind and make it difficult as you're prying the case open with a small flat-head. I also had to disable "Hard Sleep" in the bios as the...

Not DOA after all

Cheap & Small - Quick support

This is an update on what I thought was a DOA ; It is just really picky about what ram it takes ; CORSAIR 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Laptop Memory Model CM3X4GSD1066 G" does not work in this system. I put a CORSAIR 2GB ram stick in...

Won't Post - DOA

Low Cost - very small

Won't Post... Checked Manual and the light that is blinking means it is a CPU initialization error.... I guess DOAs are common with this model? ...I have submited a support request with foxcon... will keep you posted on what happens

DOA - Don't waste your money

Don't waste your money on these fox conn boxes.

Wouldn't matter if there were any pros, as it didn't work

No post on arrival. No video of any kind, no beeps of any kind. Just a stupid blue light on the front. The most frustrating kind of failure - the failure that doesn't tell you what it is ; supported memory types not sold anywhere (DDR3 800)

good system so so support

I am part of a computer company. We have bought over 50 0f these. This is very upsetting.

Small does what I want it to do when it works

After a few months it stopped powering on. I try to get support for the last month calling the 909 number and nothing just a busy signal can't leave a message. I have tried diffrent times of day and everything

Good box bad support update

An update to my previous review. It seems I timed my issue wrong as their support facility was moving. After talking with support my issue was resoved quickly

Good as a basic workstation. Not much more

Great mini server

You get a fair amount of power for the price you pay. The form factor is great and is even smaller than a regular router. Highly recommend this if you are planning on using it as a lightweight server (VPN, Web, Mail and so forth). I run Ubuntu 12.04 on...

The intended use was as a VPN server which it handles just fine. However, I was planning on buying a similar system as a media center running XBMC on it. Majority of files plays just fine if they are of standard definition. As soon as you try to play...
