Gateway DX4710-05

Priced for less than $700 and delivering impressive quad-core performance, the Gateway DX4710-05 is an excellent choice for budget-minded buyers.

Good performance for the price; large amount of RAM

Not good for gaming

Overall, this is an impressive package that looks great, too. Although we don't think the DX4710-05 is quite fast enough to warrant that red "racing" stripe, given its capabilities and price, perhaps it has earned a little self-imposed flair

Take it or leave it

I've bought from newegg for a few years now and this has only slightly tarnished their reputation for me. 95% of the time they supply best deals and great products, but I guess I just got a PC that was DoA from the Gateway factory. Customer service was...

Fast processor, 6 gigs of ram. Motherboard easy to work with. Plays games perfectly with max settings...when working

Vista was hosed from the beginning. With a few lockups and hard resets the OS was then not recognized and since no Vista DVD is given and recovery options all failed calls to Gateway were needed. Vista DVD is on back-order and takes 2-3 weeks to...

Great for the Price

Great all around computer for the price. You can do anything with it.

Works very smooth and fast right out of the box. Runs very quietly and has a sleek sexy look to it. Shipped right on time. I always wanted a quad core and this computer had the best specs for the price. I love the 6GB of RAM that helps everything run...

Power supply isnt fantastic. Graphics card is lame but i knew that when I bought it. With a new graphics card and power supply you can make this a pretty sick gaming computer

It even likes linux

I added a 9500GT to the machine and installed ubuntu 8.10 64 bit and its working beautifully Hard disk performance wasn't that great under windows, but with Linux running its definitely a windows issue. On an odd note the case has pysical capacity for...

6gb of ram, q6600, SATA optical/hdd and AHCI 95% quiet operation all for a great price very compatible hardware selection

The sata optical is a little noisy when it spins up, but this is a minor issue for me as I only spin it up when needed which is only for installs or burning. I also rather dislike the included keyboard. it looks nice but is not very easy to type on

Gateway DX4710-05 Core 2 Quad Q6600(2.40GHz) 6GB DDR2 640GB Intel GMA 3100 Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

If your wanting a very good PC, for less then 1k, this is for you. All there is to it.

Very solid PC. I have had mine for a little over a month, and have yet to find anything i do not like about it. The audio and voice ports on the front make it very convenient for head sets and speakers. Very quiet, nice shinny look to it, a great PC...

I have yet to find anything wrong with this PC so far ; How ever, it's not a Gundam
