Gateway DX4822-01

The Gateway DX-4822-01 makes a convincing pitch with the performance numbers and features to earn its place in your home, but if you're not tied to the midtower design, the older Gateway SX2800-01 offers faster speeds and the option to set it up as a...

Unique case accommodates external hard drives and a media card reader; large hard drive; a lot of room for expansion; wide variety of connections

Competing PCs offer faster performance but fewer features; poor power efficiency

Gateway DX4822-01 and Gateway One ZX4800-02

Today we look at a pair of Gateway desktop computers: the Gateway DX4822-01 and the Gateway one ZX4800-02. These attractive desktops come with some nice features and shouldn't break your budget.

Luckily, there is plenty of expansion room in the Gateway DX4822-01 for you to upgrade its components if you need to. You can add an extra hard drive if the 1TB drive is not enough. You can also add another optical drive in addition to the included DVD...

Gateway DX4822-01

Had the computer for awhile now and it hasn't failed me unless I have made the error.

Fast, Runs really fast, especially with 30 google chrome tabs open with youtube, mail, windows live, yahoo, skype with a call running, etc

First got the machine and the DVD drive SATA cord was unplugged

Gateway DX4822-01

A bang for your buck desktop, ideal for the full-time student/music download geek, that would be me. Windows 7 with 6 GB DDR3 SDRAM and a 1 TB hard drive is like XP on steriods! Easy physically to assemble and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition...

Sleek design, quick and easy assemble. Jet fast startup with Windows 7 with large, 6 GB DDR3 SDRAM and smooth, gigantic 1 TB hard drive. Tremendous features for mid-range desktop

Push button to open enclosed DVD drive is clumsy and takes some maneuvering to find the exact spot to push to open and close DVD door. Really no need to enclose the DVD drive this way

Gateway DX4822-01

Broke in first few months...had to pay to send it in for repair. They sent it back working LESS than it did when I returned it for repair. Now I have to send it BACK in for repair. Gateway isn't the Gateway from the 90's. They are now made with cheap...

Worked good, WHEN IT WORKED

Cheap components, gateway outside, acer components on the inside. Ridiculous tech support wouldn't work with me on finding a replacement while my computer was away for repair for nearly a month

Gateway DX4822-01

I owned many Gateway computers and you would think I would learn my lesson. First two Gateway computers in the 90's were awesome, but every computer since has been problematic. I don't mind glitches and repairs, but the tech service is so bad..... that...

If everything worked as it should, it would be a great deal for the money..... great memory (1 TB and 6GB DDR2) and good power

Computer ~6 months old & already a problem with Ethernet. Forget calling or Gateway on-line help..... it is terrible! Continuous disconnect calls & on-line communications. They drive the customer away with frustration. U pay for repair shipping

Do not buy Gateway products. No matter what the features or price, you will regret it within a few months.

Large storage

Broke down within 7 months. Constantly crashes. Unusable. Tech support is completely worthless. The last one hung up on me during an online "chat" session just as my computer crashed yet again. Took 2 days to get Gateway to accept an email

I am buying a Dell.

Big hard drive, 1 tb

No case fan. I wish I would have seen these other reviews before I used mine for so long. I put it in an enclosed desk compartment & it got so hot that everything went wrong with it. You could cook an egg in there ; Processor died ; Video card died ;...
