Gateway DX4850-45u

Most will find the Gateway DX4850-45 an awkward mix of performance and Blu-ray playback capability given its clunky chassis, but if you have room for a midtower PC for both productivity and disc-based HD entertainment, this system may have some appeal.

The Gateway DX4850-45 offers fast performance from its Intel Core i5 chip, and strong multimedia capability thanks to a Blu-ray drive and HDMI output

The midtower case makes this a difficult PC to add to a living room, and an anemic power supply and obvious skimping on external ports hurt its expandability

Gateway DX4850-27eu

The top of the chassis has a indented tray to place your multimedia devices (i.e. MP3s, hard drives, etc.) and plug them into the two additional USB 2.0 ports on the tray, toward the back. There's also a hidden cable wrapper for those who like to keep...

Fast second-generation Intel Core i5 processor. Big 1.5TB hard drive. Room for expansion

Slow drive speed. Not tool-less. No Wi-Fi. No USB 3.0 or eSATA

The Gateway DX4850-27eu is a low-priced desktop that provides fast processing power and expansion room for those who might want to add a few of the features it lacks later on.

Gateway DX4850-45u

If you like to create and consume media content, then the Gateway DX4850-27u ($749.99 list) looks like a great buy. Your money nets you a current-generation Intel Core i5 processor, a 1TB hard drive, and an external bay for adding another hard drive...

Innovative hard drive expansion bay. Good multimedia performance. Offers lots of internal expansion room. Includes Blu-ray drive, Wi-Fi card, HDMI port

Short Norton Internet Security subscription. Loaded with bloatware. Has no USB 3.0, eSATA ports. Hard drive is slow

Speedy and good for both multimedia creation and download fans, the Gateway DX4850-45u desktop has an answer for people who constantly run out of disk space.

Gateway DX4850

There are a lot of things we like about this home computer. The fact that it comes with a Blu-ray player as well as wireless all ready to go is a huge positive. Our concern is that there isn't enough support available for something as complex as a...

This computer comes with a Blu-ray player and offers wireless connectivity

There is a distinct lack of support and the video card included with the computer is on the low end

This computer isn't ideal for gaming or video rendering, but it's great for other entertainment purposes and normal everyday use.

Gateway DX4850-45

The Gateway DX4850-45 offers speedy performance thanks to its new Intel Core i5 and good multimedia capabilities as it has both HDMI out and a Blu-ray player. However, the connections that it offers is below average and the chassis doesn't blend well...

Great buy for the money

Overall, I really love this computer. Works very well for what I throw at it.

I use it for gaming online, and it has great processing power, even without the graphics card. It's quiet, has cool housing lights, simple to use, and is sold on Newegg for a very good price, for all you get. There's more space on it than I'll use...at...

Didn't come with a graphics card, which help when I try to play a few of my games (Team Fortress 2 with 20+ players and Sniper: Ghost Warrior...that game has a lot of deep field views with lots of trees being blown by wind...it has a very small issue...
