Gateway FX4710

Priced at $1620 (as of October 10, 2008), Gateway's FX4710 straddles the line between being a high-end value system (for which our cut off point is $1500) and being alow-priced member of the power desktop category--the classification that it currently...

Great gaming performance for the price ; High-end appearance

Outperformed by cheaper systems

This handsome PC, which just missed the price cutoff for the value PCs category, shows what a little extra cash can bring.

Good Stuff.

It's funny how users jump the gun at a simple disconnected disc drive - things happen. Apparently a minor mishap that can be fixed by a half-knowledgable user obliterates the computer's worth :/

Runs very smooth. I recently bought Crysis out of curiousity and was suprised at running it at high settings at a decent fps o.o ; I expected to run WoW and Steam software with a massive amount of multitasking, but this exceeds my expectations

If there was one, it would be Vista ; No thanks" to that control-freak of an OS

Showed up Broken

I should have just built my own.

Can run multiple programs quickly

Doesn't recognize DVD drive. Upon opening case discovered this is because the drive isn't connected. How do I fix this? I have no idea, having spent four hours on hold with Gateway tech support with no answer

Not to bad

If you are looking for a computer that will play all of todays games with the video settings set at a respectable setting... this is your computer. I don't play very many games, as of right now Age of Conan with almost everything at max gets me 40-50 FPS.

This is a great mid range computer... This was my 1st try at Windows Vista, 64-bit at that. It runs really quick and is super quiet due it's one and only fan cooling the processor, not including the cooling fan on the video card. The keyboard and mouse...

IT RUNS REALLY HOT... like i said in the pros it's super quiet with one fan. I feel like Gateway could have thrown a few more silent fans to cool it down. My processor was running about 55C with no load and 65C with a load. After putting in two 80mm...

surprisingly gOOd

Dual Apple 20" Cinemas + 1T eSata + 2nd DVD burner. I'd like to set up RAid but haven't crossed that bridge yet. Oh yea, I"m an XP fan but i left Vista64 and actually hate using XP now - only bad part is RecordSmart and Virtual Drive won't work - all...

I don't use this thing for gaming. It's primarily used for creative suites that typically drain PC's, but this machine can handle the largest files. I can open PS, InD, DW, FW all in about 5-6 seconds - meaning, I rapid click all the icons at once and...

The video card works great, no lag, but does get a little hot. I could have used one more IEEE port on the back

hooked up to Sceptre 22" LCD

A perfect package of speed and performance...6GB of Ram and Vista 64 with Intel's Quad Processor means I never wait on my computer ; I took out the 56k Modem and installed Encore's ; ENLEI-N wireless network card and it works perfectly ; The case is...

No Case Fan installed...not that big of a deal..just be sure to supply your own...but it does have a huge fan and heatsink on the processor blowing out the side of the case...just nothing out the back

Gateway FX4710-UB003A Core 2 Quad Q9300(2.50GHz) 6GB DDR2 640GB NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

Nice system - quiet and fast. Plays Gears of War @ 1680x1050 with very consistent mid-50's FPS - that's with everything turned to High and Directx 10 with anti-aliasing turned on as well. Current release of the Nvidia Universal display drivers does not...

This Gateway is Awesome ”

I purchased the Gateway DX4710-UB801A desktop when it first came out to serve as the family's main computer.  I have not been disappointed.  I am really enjoying this computer.  Since I am not a big gamer, I didn't think I would notice the quad core,...

A Gameing Computer you CAN NOT play games with!!!!!

Where do I start! I bought the computer at Micro Center with the hopes I would be playing online with a powerful computer for a good price. I got it home and began to put it together only to find out it was missing an adapter(DVI-to-VGA) for my old ...
