Gateway FX4710

Priced at $1620 (as of October 10, 2008), Gateway's FX4710 straddles the line between being a high-end value system (for which our cut off point is $1500) and being alow-priced member of the power desktop category--the classification that it currently...

Great gaming performance for the price ; High-end appearance

Outperformed by cheaper systems

This handsome PC, which just missed the price cutoff for the value PCs category, shows what a little extra cash can bring.

This Gateway is Awesome ”

I purchased the Gateway DX4710-UB801A desktop when it first came out to serve as the family's main computer.  I have not been disappointed.  I am really enjoying this computer.  Since I am not a big gamer, I didn't think I would notice the quad core,...

Great PC for the money

Great PC for the money

I bought this product new for under $1K (not including monitors), and I have to say its a great product. I don't think I could have built something identical for the same price. I use it to run virtual machines (as well as entertainment), and it runs...

can't beat the price (unless you build your own)

Pros: FAST, no crashes, and with any luck you won't need to buy a replacement before 2012 AD Cons: no SLI, no overclocking capability in bios, pre-installed junkware My first Gateway, I bought this box at Best Buy and have had it for 2 months now with...

Good Stuff.

It's funny how users jump the gun at a simple disconnected disc drive - things happen. Apparently a minor mishap that can be fixed by a half-knowledgable user obliterates the computer's worth :/

Runs very smooth. I recently bought Crysis out of curiousity and was suprised at running it at high settings at a decent fps o.o ; I expected to run WoW and Steam software with a massive amount of multitasking, but this exceeds my expectations

If there was one, it would be Vista ; No thanks" to that control-freak of an OS

Showed up Broken

I should have just built my own.

Can run multiple programs quickly

Doesn't recognize DVD drive. Upon opening case discovered this is because the drive isn't connected. How do I fix this? I have no idea, having spent four hours on hold with Gateway tech support with no answer

Blazing Fast, Economy Gaming Rig

If you are looking for a powerful PC, but don't want to spend all that money on a Alienware or HP Blackbird, this is a great machine. I have owned mine for about a month now and I'm still impressed by how fast it is. It comes with Vista 64 OS, which I...

No luck

No luck

I purchased this computer. While I found it attractive to look at and it had the features I wanted, it was a nightmare attempting to set it up. First the promised adapter for DVI to VGA was not included and I had to go running around acquiring one....

Not to bad

If you are looking for a computer that will play all of todays games with the video settings set at a respectable setting... this is your computer. I don't play very many games, as of right now Age of Conan with almost everything at max gets me 40-50 FPS.

This is a great mid range computer... This was my 1st try at Windows Vista, 64-bit at that. It runs really quick and is super quiet due it's one and only fan cooling the processor, not including the cooling fan on the video card. The keyboard and mouse...

IT RUNS REALLY HOT... like i said in the pros it's super quiet with one fan. I feel like Gateway could have thrown a few more silent fans to cool it down. My processor was running about 55C with no load and 65C with a load. After putting in two 80mm...

A Gameing Computer you CAN NOT play games with!!!!!

Where do I start! I bought the computer at Micro Center with the hopes I would be playing online with a powerful computer for a good price. I got it home and began to put it together only to find out it was missing an adapter(DVI-to-VGA) for my old ...

Looks nice
