The Gateway GT350 F1 is a well-made server from Acer with scope to handle a wide variety of applications and workloads, both in small businesses and on larger corporate networks.

Dual-socket server with choice of dual-, quad- and six-core Xeon 5500/5600 processors ; Up to 192 GB of RAM and 16TB of storage ; Hot-plug drive bays ; 5 PCI Express expansion slots ; Dual Gigabit ports ; Redundant power option

Integrated storage controller is SATA only ; Tower format is a waste if not fully utilised ; No embedded hypervisor option ; Operating system not included in price

There's very little to complain about in the Gateway hardware, and no reason for potential buyers to head for one of the better-known alternatives. It's not possible to boot the server into an embedded hypervisor, but few customers will buy this server...
