Gateway SX2370-UR10P

It's been almost a year since I've reviewed a traditional budget Windows desktop. As evidenced by the $499 Gateway SX2870-UR10P, the segment seems to have grown stagnant. That not necessarily a bad thing for those who simply want a cheap, familiar PC....

The Gateway SX2870-UR10P offers competent workhorse PC capabilities in a compact, versatile chassis.

Gateway's online service is in a state of disarray.

Budget desktops might not be all that exciting, but the Gateway SX2870-UR10P slim tower shows you can still find a worthwhile day-to-day PC for under $500.

VERY disappointed

If you don't care about any of the cons i listed, go ahead. If you do, DON'T buy this thing. This is the first and last gateway product I will ever buy.

Not many. The memory can be upgraded to 16Gb, its small and mostly quiet

You get no discs, no recovery media. You also get no windows license, only the royalty oem license built in the image. You can only make recovery on 16 Gb usb flash drives, OR you can pay gateway $20 for a dvd. The tech support is awful! It comes with...

One Flaw

Install a bigger power source and hope it doesnt fry the mother board.

All the Bells and Whistles you could want. Almost too many 2.0 USBs. HDMI, 6 RAM, etc, etc

Only 2 USB 3.0 and they are in back. However the deal breaker, ( I sent mine back ) is the 225 watt Power Supply, I cant believe I missed that, mostly because a less than 300 watt PC is unbelievable and blows the mind, in this day and age

Wired internet was broken on arrival.

Customer service is amazingly important, companies that can't support their products shouldn't sell products.

Shipped very fast and is inexpensive

Computer showed up 2 days after ordering but only the wireless internet connection worked, plugged it into modem and it would not recognize it. I tried contacting Gateway support and couldn't get past the automated system to talk to an actual person....

great deal !

love it plenty of usb and my hdmi works great. got it hooked up to my 42" sharp and looks beautiful. Pretty much happy with the computer. I think you get alot for the price, plus I got it from staples with a 100 discount. Couldn't beat it

Sales rep told me it had a built in wifi. Not sue if it really does. Cant pick up any signal. So i went and got a netgear genie

Well built

Very quiet and smooth, can hardly tell it's on. The onboard graphics is surprisingly not bad at all and can run most of today's standard games on medium settings. Built in wireless is a huge plus. Very fast processing. For the specs, this is the well...

None really. The power supply is only 220, so if you plan on upgrading the graphics card for the pci-e slot, you'll prolly need a new power supply as well. The bloatware pre-installed is pointless, but only took about 10 mins to uninstall the garbage I...

So far, I'm impressed

I have no complaints with the unit so far, and I'm definitely happy with it as a replacement for my 7 or so year old larger tower. I could definitely do without the lights on the case or the time it took me to uninstall all the software that I don't...

Small, quiet, fast, plenty of storage, plenty of power

Bright accent lights on the case, lots of pre-installed bloatware

This computer has only been her a few days, but is working great. Very little bloatware, a bid of adware with IE easily removed. The NovaBench number is 600, which is very high for a box like this. All advertised specs met .. so far looks like a great...
