Gateway SX2850-33 Compact Desktop PC Review (SFF) - Desktops

I picked up one of these little guys for $550 from CompUSA about a week ago, for use as a media PC and DVR (actually got the SX2850-01 since I preferred the 1TB harddrive and 3.0 GHz processor over the 640GB harddrive and 3.2 GHz processor found in the...

Fast processor, good specs, has everything I need and looks great on my entertainment system

Few expansion slots, a little concerned about the heat

I7 Emachine

Looks like a guaranteed dead machine. I honestly thought the IEEE had standards against the I7 being used in Mirco Atx form due to it's higher end hertz usage possibly causing fires in constricted running space.

Great processor and small enough to release as an HTPC case

It's small for an I7, I would think heat would become an issue. No room for upgrading. It looks to me as if they took the best of everything cheap leftover from the sales drives of 2008 and put it in an EMachine case for low air flow
