Dell's Studio XPS 8000 is designed for home users who want a powerful PC that can be used for almost any type of task. It features the latest in Intel processing technology and the latest in Dell case design.
Fast performance, Blu-ray drive, 23in Full HD monitor
Upgrades are expensive, internal layout is cramped and the hard drive mounts are inconvenient
We like the speed of the Studio XPS 8000 and think it's a potent PC for home use or for a small office. However, its design isn't as good as we'd we're used to seeing from machines that brandish the XPS letters. Its internal layout is cramped and ...

Dell's Studio One 19 is an all-in-one touch-screen PC that's designed for family use. It's a fast PC that's suitable for everyday work such as Web browsing, editing photos and creating documents, and it can be used for taxing tasks such video editing ...
Accurate and responsive touch screen, good speed, easy to set up
The design of the bezel is distracting, poor audio quality
The performance of the Dell Studio One 19 is good, and we like its space-saving design. Its touch screen gives you a new way to navigate the system and browse the Web. The only real downsides are the design of its bezel, its white case and its poor ...

The Dell Inspiron 545s is a slimline desktop PC designed to give your peers and workmates fashion envy. Sleek, shiny and aggressively colourful, it falls into the same €˜look at me€™ camp as Apple€™s curvier offerings. It will serve as an office ...
Good performance, attractive design, easily upgradeable
Outmoded graphics card, not much in the way of connectivity
When it comes to processing power and overall performance, the Dell Inspiron 545s is a reasonable proposition for the asking price. However, it lacks ports that some users might consider essential. All in all, an average effort.

MSI's Wind Top AE1900 (model number MS-6638) is an all-in-one PC with an 18.5in touch screen. It has an Intel Atom CPU (the same type of processor used in netbooks), so it's not very powerful, but it can be used for basic tasks such as word processing ...
Won't take up much space, built-in DVD burner, reasonable performance for basic tasks
Touch screen doesn't support gestures, touch screen not easy to use for scrolling and dragging actions, MSI Wind Touch interface can't be customised, no front-facing ports
MSI's Wind Top AE1900 is an all-in-one PC that won't take up much space on a desk. It has a touch screen and a built-in DVD burner, and it can be used for basic tasks.

eSATA, DisplayPort, quad-core CPU options
Tricky to replace some components
Dell's OptiPlex 760 desktop PC provides plenty of power but lacks the ease of maintenance that other small form factor PCs offer. Better graphics options would improve its performance.

Excellent case, easy to maintain, good performance, eSATA, DisplayPort
DVI port does not come as standard
Lenovo's ThinkCentre M58p Small Form Factor PC is faster than the M57 it replaces, and it consumes less power. It's a great little PC for corporations or small businesses that are looking to roll out new desktops.

Nehalem-based Intel Xeon processors, good airflow, reasonable power consumption, good expansion options
Only space for two hard drives, memory slots are hard to access
There is still room for improvement on the Dell Precision T3500 workstation desktop PC, but in terms of the raw power it delivers great performance. Configuration options are plentiful, and there is generous room for expansion.

A fast, energy-efficient, and cost-effective dual-socket 1U rack server. The enormous leap in memory bandwidth makes it possible to do so much more work in the same space, Nehalem and Mac OS X seem positively made for each other
Nehalem Xserve is not everything it could be, lower power consumption at idle would be a benefit
Apple's Nehalem Xserve packs more into one rack unit than any other server. For one price, you get a best-in-class server and a commercial Unix OS with unlimited client licenses, plus a foolproof management GUI. The 2.26GHz eight-core model outguns ...
