HP Compaq 6000 Pro

All-in-one desktops generally have a tough time fitting into the business realm. Although they're convenient space-savers, they're generally pricier than similarly equipped tower models. More important, however, those svelte chassis come at the cost of...

Less cost-effective than its competitors

HP's business-centric all-in-one lacks the bells and whistles of consumer-oriented machines, but it offers strong performance and some room to tinker.

Review: HP Compaq 6000 Pro All-in-one Business PC – Updated

Ever since the first iMac, computer manufacturers have been finding ways to combine all the parts of a computer into a single device. HP is doing this with the Compaq 6000 and they are marketing it to businesses as an All-in-one Business PC.

So this machine has been nothing but problems so me. I just barely made it though the tests, and even simple things like watching movies would cause it to lock up. I am not so concerned about the low performance tests, but the instability of the system...

The HP Compaq 6000 Pro series of computers offer great flexibility for small and medium sized business requirements. They allow for balancing computing needs with financial constraints that any business must consider and offer a lot of bang for the buck.

The processor is upgradable through Intel Pentium, Intel Core 2 Duo and maxing out with the Core 2 Quad processor running at 2.66 to 3.0 GHz for each core

The base processor for the series is the Intel Celeron 450 running at 2.20 GHz

HP Compaq 6000 Pro All-in-One

For situations where real estate is at a premium on or under your desk, the all-in-one PC is a tidy solution. All-in-one PCs occupy less space than traditional desktop computers that have separate monitors and CPUs. And they provide larger monitors...

Attention to minimizing the size of the carbon footprint is evident in the ENERGY STAR qualification and the EPEAT Gold registration, as well as the power supply that is more efficient than previous generations of power supplies. Not only is this an...

Quadro 6000 Gaming Graphics Cards

The Quadro line of GPU cards emerged in an effort at market segmentation by NVIDIA. In introducing Quadro, NVIDIA was able to charge a premium for essentially the same graphics hardware in professional markets, and direct resources to properly serve...

Decent Replacement for WinXP PCs

Purchased 20 of these to replace aging WinXP machines in the office. For less than the cost of a Windows 7 Pro upgrade they can't be beat if the hardware meets your needs. Definitely "scratch and dent" units but I expected that going in. Don't expect...

Good if it's what you're looking for

Don't think this model is terribly old, so still scratching my head about the 240W PSU. Haven't seen such a weak PSU in a long time.

No problems getting it up and running. Was able to easily register Windows

Wanted to setup dual monitors, but the power supply (240W) doesn't provide enough juice to support installing a video card. To make matters worse, it's a proprietary PSU so no luck swapping it out for a more powerful one. May try installing a low-end...

BSODs

I would still buy this again.

Great for the price. These originally came with four year warranties so you know they were built with reliable parts, they're still reasonably fast, especially for someone who doesn't need a lot of horsepower, and they come with Windows 7 Pro SP1...

None of the post-SP1 updates are installed, the drivers are installed but they're either the drivers that the PC originally shipped with or ones that either came with Windows or were installed through Windows Update because I was getting random BSODs,...

HP Compaq 6000 Pro

I've bought and put 3 into use. I'm getting ready to buy another.

For just a little bit more than the cost of an OEM Windows 7 64 bit DVD, this is a complete computer with Windows 7 already installed. For most business apps, 4 GB, and integrated video is more than enough. The compact case is easy to work with and...

One had a slightly loose front bezel because one of the bezel's retaining tabs had broke. This will have no effect on functionality, but it still detracts a little
