Great business PC

 

My company has sold over 100 of these to various clients of ours and we have yet to experience any hardware problems. For simple business use (Schools, banks, etc...) it's a great system.

Great price for the cost. No trial software

A larger HDD and a CD/DVD burner instead of a CD burner/DVD reader

Ok system, HP support terrible

 

With a "restore CD" installation you can use the free program "rockxp 4.0" to figure out what the Windows XP license key is. You may try doing a fresh install with that key, although I never attempted this. Ultimately I did a fresh install with my own...

Hardware seems ok, and this is a pretty fast and quiet system. After a painful installation process where I chucked the 80gb drive and CDR/DVD drive (non-DVDR), and used my own Windows XP CDs (see below), it does run pretty fast and appears reliable....

1] HP online chat tech support doesn't recognize this system! (at least at the time of this writing). If you enter your part # and serial # it comes back saying this model is not supported (try it). There is no way to send an email to tech support...

Excellent value business desktop

 

I would gladly pay a couple bucks more for a good quality hard drive. I may yet just dump the Seagate for a larger drive anyways.

Asus motherboard and low power AMD dual core processor provide plenty of power for not a lot of money

Seagate harddrive and Geforce 6150 onboard video are why the low cost. As long as the Seagate holds up this computer should be OK
